What did Bono do?

So I'm about to show my age here, which always feels weird since because either i become self conscious about it or older folks view my existence as a personal attack (exaggeration, but I see the pain in your eyes and its not the back or knees causing it). But....

What did Bono do?

I feel I only started to notice him when the media I watched growing up focused on bashing him, which was a few comedians and the Simpsons movie mainly. He's mention always caused a lot to groan in annoyance, like how Canada wants to forget Nickleback is Canadian. But what were his crimes? I always got the impression he looked shallow but plenty are and arent hated like him. Just curious of what the others know and think.

I mean, everyone also hates him too. I cant remember but he said something dumb like 10 years ago about returning the Freedom of Dublin award but keeping his knighthood.

Could not care less what he did wrong probably because he was a pompous git from the richest part of Ireland and a snob of which he flaunted that and from 1979 to around 2000 no one had a penny jealousy probably be the word for that BUT ive seen U2 live 4 times and no matter what any one says they are still to this day a class act and in the eyes of the world all ways will be and they are ours.

He's a Zionist. His whole career he spoke out about human rights, apartheid, SA, Myanmar, etc, but he's barely said 2 words about the genocide in Gaza. Now he'd rather hang out with Richard Branson and Bill Clinton than use his platform to call for change. Actually, now I wonder if he ever met Jeffrey Epstein...

He's more successful and richer than most other Irish people - fatal to one's popularity among fellow citizens.

I met him the day he signed his first contract.

My grudge is that he presented to be working class.

While Christy Dignam was working class.

Bono based his career as a white saviour. He hounded the world to give money to save people, but spent obscene money on his after parties.

It was the hypocrisy that done him in.

Then again, back then uou couldn't fact check the way you could now.

Would be interesting to see how much money he actually gave to these plights himself and weigh it against how much he actually earned from them.

You have to remmeber that at the time when he was at his height, the "Celtic Tiger" was on the rise and ordinary people were losing money, jobs, property etc. And here was this multi-millionaire was tellig them to give their money away.

Hey is preachy. But he has done far far more good than bad to charitable causes over the years.

Being cute with taxes, who of us wouldn't be if we could.

Its typical irish begrudge. We love them till they are big, then we dont.

Its only when he dies, that everyone will be like he was a great Irish man again. Its stupid and petty, but 100% the way it will be.

Also u2 are one of the all time greatest live acts and he is supremely gifted as a singer, good man bono!

"The chap is just a proper knobhead. "

Absolutely, it just happens to people that bring it on, he's "a proper knobhead"

One of the funniest things I remember is when he fell off stage during a gig, classic.

Bono is a wanker, spent half his life pretending to care about humanity, but stayed silent on the genocide in gaza, bum buddies with George bush
