Loneliness and isolation seems to be the big issue this decade. Maybe a hangover from Covid and the rise of technology working from home. All have contributed to social isolation. People seem to spend too much time looking at screens and not mixing. Even pub culture seems to be dying out.

Not surprising so many people mention loneliness.

It can be a lonely life as a single gay man. But I try to take pleasure in my friendships, trips away, walks, books and yes, a few pints. I've accepted my lot in life and overall it's pretty good. People in relationships aren't necessarily happier, we all have our struggles.

I live alone; but working 50 hours a week, then with other stuff going on, just don’t have time to feel lonely. More than happy to simply relax and do nothing some Sundays.

I find the radio a good companion…… a varied choice on offer, that caters for most.

I don't think its something that applies only to gay lads . I think its much more common in all ways of life . I find it extremely difficult to trust people having had a very abusive childhood and being a victim of two sexual assaults. I always seem to attract the wrong sort and end up getting taken advantage of and hurt

Loneliness is a part of life... i am pretty busy and plenty of friends but am single and get pangs of loneliness at times...

The feeling passes... it is a form of anxiety

But i do think of the many isolated men in Ireland and count my blessings
