"Just finished this fascinating book published in April. It covers the history of men who have sex with men in Belfast from the late 1880s through to the 70s. It covers a range of areas including church and community responses; the difference of experience in Belfast and Dublin; and of course the orange and greening of gay sex. The cruising geography of the city centre is mapped out. I have learnt so much about my city from reading it. Interested if anyone else has read it? " About the orange and greening of gay sex, I suspect, that most men here who put their todgers up another man's bum didn't care about religon.

"Interesting... I used to know the author 15-25 years ago. And no, not in "that" way. " Author is a smart dude - linking gay experiences and how they fit with constitutional, economic and social change on island of Ireland and factoring in Freud and other emerging psychological thinking.
