Could someone recommend a good sauna/spa in London that a guy can visit when he’s in town?

Clean, good standard of hygiene, facilities and clientele.

This is my personal opinion, I normally go to a sauna in the afternoon, not always the best time to visit.

I like a hot steam room as well as an opportunity for some fun play

Sewatbox, big, younger crowd plenty of play areas, steam room more like a hammam than a steam room two day pass good value

Pleasurdome big busy bar nice dark room steam room, big jacuzzi, private play rooms extra.

Locker room, older crowd 50+ needs a revamp ( showers can be cold) but good steam room and good sauna, busy on event days, no jacuzzi ( my London favourite)

Covent Garden spa, nice clean but small, big jacuzzi.

Portsea I went once never again, cold sauna and steam room,

Sailors' nice and big play area but empty

My recommendation is ME1 in Rochester, 40 minutes by train from Kings Cross, clean busy good steam and sauna room

If it's a steam room you want try New Docklands ( not Gay) 4 different steam rooms with different temperatures

I went to Pleasuredrome last week.

It was my first sauna visit, I had a fantastic time lots of guys to have fun with and the place is clean and modern. I might try another venue next time but I’d say Pleasuredrome is well worth checking out.

I usually visit Vault139 on Naked Night on Monday and Thursday after 7 pm. It's more like a gay sex club cruise bar.

I think Vault139 is the UK best gay cruise bar or sex clun. I always have a great time and fun there with different guys especially on those Naked Nights. A few became my good friends.

Compared with other gay saunas, I prefer Vault139 and comes second for Pleasuredome Sauna. There are sling room, video room, glory holes, other play rooms/cubicles etc.

I went to Portsea before Christmas and the sauna and steam room were excellent. But those and a (not very) dark room are it in terms of facilities.

Locker Room could do with a refurb but it’s great fun. Great crowd too. My favourite.

Pleasuredome is alright. Feels less sleazy than the others (I like sleazy).

Sweatbox is good fun if you appeal to the, mainly younger, crowd.

Vault and Bunker are not saunas but are good for anon hookups - particularly Vault which can get very busy.

Pleasuredrome is big, good layout. Large enough lockers for bag and laptop etc. I like it but it's a younger crowd and can be qliquey when there's a young group in, however....those younger guys sometimes like the older gents.

Locker room is always good and busy but does need a refurb.

I like portsea though it is small but always a friendly crowd.

I'll never return to Sweatbox. Rude staff, not a user friendly layout.

Covent garden spa free entry if under 30, nice sauna but not always busy

The locker room over 40 crowd

Or either of the two big ones

Pleasuredome or sweatbox

Vault139 and bunker bar are just cruising today ( plenty of fun but not special events)

Best to go naked, most guys do. I enjoy the Locker Room although its a bit tired. Agree with previous posts, although not in Central London, it' eoth travelling to ME1 in Rrochester. Great sauna, plenty of action and nice friendly guys

I agree Northwich is head and shoulder the best in the UK.. Huge clean and lots of guys on weekends.

I visited Portsea and Pleasuredrome this week. Weekday, middle of the day visits in both cases. Both places were fairly quiet at that time (4-5 guys at Portsea, 8ish at Pleasuredrome). I had a lot more fun at Pleasuredrome - as it was slightly busier and with more variety of people and better facilities and more options for cruising. Both are the same price so I’d favour Pleasuredrome next time I think.

I paid cash in both places.

Only one sauna, Steamworks. Not as good as Pipeworks in Glasgow, but worth a visit.

The steam room is one of the busier areas for HJs and oral (occasionally fucking, but it's very warm for that), sauna cabin also, but the busiest area is upstairs, where the dark rooms are quite well arranged for group fun.
