Welhorny Hotel Blackpool Review

Dumbarton

To everyone who is sending me messages wanting to know every little detail then please read this instead of private messaging me. If you really want to know what its like, book a room and go. If you do have more questions ask them in this thread I will try to answer, or someone else may be able to.

Having spent the weekend there and keeping in mind it was their first weekend of being open, it was good fun.

Firstly it is a naturist hotel, so that means the dress code IS naked. There were all size and shape people and a very wide age range. If you are a staying guest then you obviously have your room to leave your clothes in, but if you go as a member for a day entry then there is a full changing room with showers for you to leave your stuff in (Sauna style). Saturday is Pants day. So if you unsure about being naked then you could wear a jock or pants. But when you see everyone else is naked you will feel over dressed

Secondly the hosts Darren & Paul are great hosts. You are made to feel very welcome and interacted well with all guests and members.

The rooms are basic, but very clean. Breakfast is provided and even an evening meal while I was there. If there is a food event that will be included. It was £80 per night. This included my membership for free. Membership is one of for life and is normally £10.

Memberships - As this is a private members club/hotel you need to be a member. Membership is £10 for life and if you are staying will be included and available from when you arrive. If you are not staying there and want to be a member you must get your membership 24 hours in advance. You can either phone or do it online (dont know where) the day before you go to Blackpool or go to the hotel and do it. If you do it at the hotel you will have to come back the next day. Your first entry is free when you take out a membership and then £5 per day. This means you can pay your £5 and come and go from the hotel as much as you wish for the remainder of the day. Great if you want to go have a play, go out for a few drinks and come back and play some more.

The hotel is open to members from 1 to 11 weekdays and till 2 on weekends.

The hotel is split in 2 with hotel rooms on one side of the hotel and play rooms on the other. You can wander the rooms and guests are given a sign to put on their door if they are open to receiving guests. There are 2 playrooms at present with 2 more under construction.

While I was there there were many members coming and going all through the day and the bar had people in and the playrooms were in use. This can only get busier as more members sign up. Think of it as a sauna but in a hotel. And since its right in the middle of the gay village literally 4 doors down from trades it adds another "fun" venue. Drinks are very reasonably priced and cheaper than most bars.

I had a lot of fun and will be back.

Some of the rooms have slings. I assume they will be putting one in the play area. 2 areas are open and 2 are under construction.

If you want it put it in here and they will probably see it and take it on as a suggestion.

The windows are silvered. So you can see out but people cannot see in.

Means loads of natural light gets in.

No I just went as a punter. Went on a last min weekend to blackpool. Saw there was controversy in the papers about it and had to stay there.

Just at least 12 people have messaged me wanting me to give them a full rundown of the hotel. So easier to just put it in one place as I can't be arsed having multiple conversations about a hotel.

"How do you book the hotel?"

You have to phone to book as there is no website. If you Google the hotel you should get the number from there.

It's a private members hotel and you need to be a member for 24 hours first. Mabit has summed everything up perfectly at the top of this thread.

Definately sounds a lot better and safer than Trades.

Just read a news article about it. Neighbours in the area aren't happy about it.the owners should have came up with a more sensible name, it really shouldn't be called 'Welhorneys', makes it sound really sleazy!

Do you believe everything you read in the papers?

They also didn't have licencing issues that were in the papers either.

It's why I went. Anything getting that many inches in a paper and causing upset gets my money.

Remember there is ManBar/growlr where for 2 quid you can shag.

Trade is a well knows phrase for picking up a casual shag. Guess they should change their name.

Peek-a-booze, flying handbag and other risky names. It's Blackpool if you want high class then Blackpool ain't for you.

According to the review at the top of the post, the rooms are basic but clean. I would be very suprised if locks don't work on the doors in new premises. Like _abit had said, there are signs that indicate wether you want company or not so again, I would be very suprised if the locks don't work on the doors.

Just to answer a few of the recent questions asked.. Yes the owners are naked too. To apply for membership you will need to ring them first and once you have become a member for 24 hours, then you can visit. It's a private male only naturist hotel so everyone has to be naked, even at breakfast time.

Another add on... Mobile phones must be kept in your room if you have booked to stay or in the lockers provided if you are a day visitor.

No it's naked. You could get dressed to go. But would be a waste time when you have to take it all off when you get there.

I’m local - Preston- so popped in to take out a membership. Just rang the bell, given a very friendly welcome, filled in a form, paid my £10 life membership fee and was given my membership card - already in the nineties when I visited a few weeks ago. Hope to get there for a visit soon. The friendly encounter from the fit owners was a very positive experience and a lovely atmosphere - definitely for naturists - no clothes in sight.

Will do. I don't like where the sling is in Trades, as I like to go down the backstairs to the darkroom, whilst just wearing A jock.

Easier said then done, if someone is in the sling by the doorway

Stayed there for 1 night a couple of weeks ago. And staying there this weekend Fri 20th to Sun 22nd. Will also be having spanking play with a couple of other residents and possibly a few other day visitors also coming for spanking and other play. I’ll have to check out this thing about them giving you a sign to put in your door to indicate your open for visitors.

I highly recommend this place.

Steve, they usually give you the sign for your door when you collect the keys to your room, if not, just ask them. I had one for my door last time I went

I am next there at the beginning of November. Fantastic place to stay!

Wouldn't mind giving this place A go in the new year.

I no guests have to be members which is good, I wonder if you can meet people on apps like this and just take them up to your room?

Anyone no or even done this??

Pretty sure the original post mentioned that all play is limited to the play rooms and hotel bedrooms, bigjack. I share your passion for playing in the most public of areas, but can understand why fun is restricted to more private areas.

I hope you have a great time on your visit...please let us know how it goes!

The only people allowing are resident guests and day members so if you were staying there and got chatting to a guy on an app or in a bar you would only be Able to take them back if they were already a day member and had their membership for at least 24 hours before their visit. This is to do with their licensing conditions

I stayed at Welhorny for a couple of nights last weekend and it is a lovely very clean place and Darren and Paul are really nice guys and everybody is made to feel welcome. There is no playing in the bar but what happens is that when people are going to the playrooms then most people in the bar follow. Darren and Paul put a lot of effort in to their weekends , they are have a bear weekend and Hogmanaked ( New Year ). Breakfasts are great. The place is open until 2am at the weekends. I will definitely be going back.

I was at Welhorny's again last weekend and had another absolutely superb stay! There is a real sense of community and a feel of belonging that I have never felt anywhere that I have stayed before.Darren and Paul are exceptional, lovely guys and very engaging. I am next there for bears weekend at the end of November.Definately worth a visit if you have never stayed before.
