Huge county (includes the Lake District) with a very small population! Is Cumbria good for cock, in your experience and where are the best towns for action?

Not in my experience. Lots of the guys are married so it’s difficult for them to meet and everyone is so spread out it’s almost impossible to sort a meet out without lots of planning

Good point. There are a few hotspots though where there's a fair few guys who are up for it. Whitehaven, Workington, Egremont, Cockermouth etc plus Carlisle, Keswick, Millom, Kendal, Penrith, Ulverston, Cleator Moor and Barrow.

Cumbria only exists now as a ceremonial County. We've gone back to 1974 with Cumberland and Westmoreland

It hasn't made it any easier to get meets though

Technically Cumbria was an administrative county. The ceremonial county was the old Cumberland. Barrow, Ulverston etc are actually in the old ceremonial county of Lancashire.

Lack of gay bars in Carlisle surprising ( unless I’ve missed something! ) . Sauna is a very welcome refuge for gay/bi guys . There are some good cruising spots in Cumbria though , and have had a few good meets through fab etc. too , but generally not a great deal that I’m aware of .

For me, its the sauna in carlisle, and 2 fairly well known cruising spots. . Or, arranging a meet on here (which can be next to impossible if you can't accommodate)

It's dreadful.

Too many fantasists, too many closeted guys, too many illiterates who cannot read a profile.

I know this makes us sound like dickheads, but I am afraid it's the reality.

We were recently blocked by someone for not being online for 48 hours (we hadn't yet arranged a meet), even though our profile is clear about this.

Often, when you find someone reliable, you have to travel a fair bit to meet them.

And there isn't a great deal of good looking men either in our area...

I’m in Barrow genuine my profile is clear too and the amount of time wasters here is incredible I now have a few genuine friends I meet but apart from that it’s hopeless. And everyone in Barrow seems to know everyone else I’ve even been threatened on here to be outed fgs

Amen to that. Problem is: we do not know anyone in the area, and, although non camp, we are an out gay couple.

Does that put people off?

It is true that: the smaller the area, the more time wasters and pretenders.

There is a vid in YouTube of Barrow Pride last week. Didn't look much fun tbh. Pride by the Harbourside in Whitehaven was pretty good last year. It's on again this year.

Barrow Pride is an event set up by a local group of youth a year or so before covid, so it hasn't become popular quite yet.

Fair play to them for trying something that should unite all communities.
