The Islamic market is too large for the meat industry to fail to cater to, but at the same time too small to justify a separate processing operation for. A good mate worked for decades in this line of work. There is no appreciable difference between Halal and Kosher when it comes to method of slaughter, but there are in regard to permitted animal species, slaughtering methods, and restrictions on diet. | |||

" Not all meat is halal or kosher. I know this, as I know two Blokes that work in abbotoirs. They see animals stunned and there is no prayer said over them. Supermarkets have sectioned off halal/kosher meat. | |||
