Hi guys I’m looking for hotel in Newcastle that doesn’t need key access for rooms / easy for visitors to come and go. Any ideas please?

Newcastle (Throckley)

I used to regularly meet a guy in the Jury's Inn (Leonardo's now I think) and it was free access

It was a few years ago so I don't know if it's still true

Leonardo’s is great. Location perfect. Right by sauna 52 and the day area.

I’ve stayed a few times. No key card needed.

I met a guy at the Crowne Plaza a few weeks ago and didn't need a key card to go in the lifts and get to his room.

Holiday inn express is key card for the lift, but really close to the gay bars. Leonardo hotel had security on last time I was there and was checking people had keys.

Had a meet at the EasyHotel on the Quayside last week sure you didn’t need a card to get in lift. Rooms were a bit small though.

You know you can actually stay in Number 52 sauna? No problem with access there. The rooms are really nice.

I had a meet there before. No problem with access. Lifts are quite close to entrance whereas the reception desk is against the far wall, so you can access lifts without having to engage with any staff.

Thanks all for the info. I will be staying at the Royal Station hotel by Central Station Tue May 27. If any of you (and your mates want to stop by for some fun get in touch)

Glad op got his accommodation sorted. Have a good visit. FYI I've stayed at the Premier Inn in the city centre. Housed in the former Co-op department store. Comfortable rooms (thanks Lenny Henry) & within walking distance of all amenities. Recommended.

Have a great time, OP. It’s a wonderful city, including for The Eagle, Number 52 sauna etc on Scotswood Road. And the Private Shop (adult store) also there, ha

I end up staying at the Hilton at the airport as I’m usually poured off a long haul trip. Then I take the metro to town. Will be doing this later in the year
