I used to stay at Trades quite regularly, usually on a Thursday night, because I used to go to The Honeycomb Sauna on the Friday, which was t-girls and admirers day. That said, the Honeycomb closed down before the covid pandemic sò I haven't stayed at Trades since, therefore I cannot comment on what it's like now.

But, when I used to stay there, the management always made me feel welcome and I was never made to feel unwelcome by any of the guests either. I used to have a drink in the bar in the evening, fully dressed en-femme and the other guests just accepted me for what I was.

Trades however, is a gay cruising hotel so naturally the vast majority of the clientele are gay men. Most gay men are not sexually attracted to anyone remotely fem.

Like most other residents I used to leave my bedroom door unlocked when I was in my room and I had my fair share of visitors. The majority took one look at me and turned around immediately and left. I put that down to the fact that they were gay and they didn't want to have sex with me because I am a TV. At least that's what I used to tell myself and I accepted that. It was still a thrill for me to stay there though and not everyone uses to turn and run. So I did have some memorable nights there, and I know other tv's have stayed there too and had fun.

So my advice would be, give it a try, I'm sure you will enjoy the experience.

You need to become a member 24 hours in advance then you can use all areas. They not being awkward, it's just part of their licencing conditions and it stops randoms from walking in off the street who might not know that it's a naturist hotel.

They did a post last week about paying £5 entry so you can use the play area, but not the bar, not sure how that works. Best bet is to give them a call to clarify that bit.

There used to be one in Earls Court, London, called The Philbeach Hotel. It was very similar to Trades, a gay cruising hotel with a great bar (Jimmy's Bar) in the basement, and the hotel and bar were sensible prices too, not typical London prices.

Sadly The Philbeach closed down in the early 2000's.

When I used to go there, all the bedroom doors were fitted with the old fashioned Yale type front door lock. The difference being, you opened the door with your key, walked in and the door automatically closed behind you on a door spring. The door wasn't actually locked though. Unlike the old Yale locks where the door was automatically locked when it was closed, in Trades you have to physically lock it yourself when you're inside. Otherwise anyone can walk in, and, most certainly will.

Guys cruising the landings push the doors to see if they're unlocked. If they open, that's a signal that the occupant is available for sex.

The important thing to remember is, when you leave your room, you have to lock the door behind you with the key. Otherwise, although the door will be closed, it won't be locked and anyone could walk in and nick your valuables.
