Like you visiting Manchester and likely to try Basement sauna on the Saturday afternoon and/or evening.

Been to a few saunas before and they are hit or miss but a Saturday should be busy.

The sauna is not far from the gay village (or the hotel I have booked) which will also be busy - being a Saturday night.

All new to me so high hopes ..

Will let me know ..

If you're driving then try Sauna Sauna in Northwich.

A little out of Manchester but very good and generally v busy too.

Only open certain days midweek but Tuesday is always pretty good.

Better earlier in the day than evening though usually.

Thank you - I thought the same but I am flying in and out of Manchester so will be reliant on public transport.

Basement Sauna is the easiest for me to get to but the one in Northwich seems to be a lot popular with guys from this site.

Probably too fat away for me to get to given that I am only on a flying visit (literally!).

I'm also using public transport, and likely there Wed or Thurs evenings or both. I have heard Northwich is great but not sure it's easy to access by public transport.

No, it's not that easy with public transport.

A very good walk or reasonable taxi ride from Northwich station and Green bank station too which I'm told is nearest

Apparently there is a bus that goes near though

By the sounds of things, if the Basement Sauna is no good, I will be taking the open top bus tour of Manchester instead and probably grabbing a curry and some beers before retiring to my hotel for the night and a good night's sleep!

Basement sauna can get busy Saturday and Sundays, I do find it can be quite cliquey and it seems to be attended more by guys 20-45/50 age range and most of us senior guys get neglected unless you hit it off with someone similar age range.

Thanks for the update - going to be a short visit if that's the case and simply a chance to explore and get a good sweat from the facilities rather than the physical exertion!

I will see who is around on here on the day (the majority don't plan ahead) and take my chances.

Any recommendations for a good curry house in the vicinity?

Look up Pennine Sauna and see if it’s open when you’re in the city. Easy to get to as well. You get on the Rochdale tram and get off at Shaw and Crompton and it’s a short walk from there.

The city has a pretty decent tram service so you should be able to get out to Basement without too much trouble.

Canal street is good enough to meet nice people, Weds is good and then of course weekends. There are lots of good bars and quizzes in some of the pubs. I think if the Eagle is still there then that would be the sleaziest type of bar (opens quite late on)

Don’t forget to get in here as well and looks who’s is about locally, they will steer you to the right places. Never had a bad night in Manchestor and pulled one of the sexiest most stunning trans ladies ever about 12 years ago just by chatting first then she took me back to her car that was parked down an alley, whipped up her mini dress and fucked me sensless.

Thanks guys - sounds very promising.

Looking forward to my short visit.

If your still looking for curry recommendations you could try hunting out This & That cafe on Soap St in the Northern Quarter. It's been there from the days when the area was a garment district and there were other similar cafes catering for the workers there. It shuts at 8pm though, so only good for an early meal. Of course, you could try Chinese, Manchester's Chinatown is no distance from Canal St and is the largest (I think) outside of London.

"Chinatown!

On the opposite side of Portland St to Gay Village and Charlton St Bus Station. There’s a Chinese gate and plenty eateries. And even a branch of Bank of China.
