A hotel dissapointment

I recently stayed at the Brittania hotel Manchester. I used to stay there 25 years ago regularly and it was a fantastic , vibrant hotel and just around the corner from Canal street which could be brilliantly sleazy 👌👌👌.

What a dissapointment FFS. To say it was awful would be less than the truth and I couldn't believe the change in the place 🥱🥱🥱.

What a disappointing stay. No fun at all and even canal street is now so up market and accessible/posh gay that I really won't be rushing back.

Any tips on where to go now would be appreciated as I'm back there in a couple of months. Cheers 👌👌👌

Sorry to hear that. There are so many good hotels in Mcr, there's really no excuse for staying at that particular brand which is an obvious Avoid.

Offshore now, ignore pistcode

Any Britannia Hotel property is budget for a reason. As mentioned, there are a load of modern high quality budget hotels in the city centre now. I usually use the Doubletree at the bottom on Piccadilly ramp.

Yeah Britannia is awful wherever you go.

I stayed at Townhouse Manchester when I was staying over for marathon earlier this year, used to stay there a lot when I was working there a few years ago. Decent hotel, well located. Ideal for canal street, but also chinatown and pretty central.

To be fair, pretty much ANY hotel in Manchester is better than the britannia!
