Is fuel readily available up in North East?

Got to drive to Scotland next month and will need to refuel en-route regardless of cost

Yes, since going electric I have paid less for a year’s driving than I used to to fill the old BMW 330 once.

Fuel retailers in the UK are now legally required to report pump price changes within 30 minutes of a change and, with real-time updates, drivers can make use of various apps and websites to compare fuel prices at different stations across the UK.

N.B. Enforcement action to ensure compliance with the new regulations, after a few months of allowing businesses to adjust their systems, will start being prioritised from 1 May 2026.

I borrowed my mates Costco card about 3 weeks back and tanked my car up. But I think my local petrol station (or should that be diesel station?) which I normally think is expensive was only 3p or so more expensive per litre. Costco is about 15 mile away, so that is a 30 mile round journey. Based on the car doing 45-50 ish mpg it is not worth the time or effort to go there for fuel. But, Costco is the cheapest in the area.
