The layby on the A689 Carlisle to Brampton used to be a great cruising spot but it's been gated for some time. Driving past yesterday I noticed the gate open and cars parked by the bridge. Is it active again? Any info anyone?

I saw 3 cars turn off at the same time and follow each other down yesterday, thought it was strange.

It used to popular with anglers at one time so maybe a fishing trip? It would be good to think it was becoming active again as a cruising site
