Hi all,

I’m just testing the water here. I have been asked if I would be interested in hosting an event night, specifically aimed at ‘curious’ guys.

EVERYONE (straight/Bi/gay) would be welcomed, but the idea is to make it a safe haven for straight guys who may want to ‘Try Bi’ or for Bi guys who want more experience with other lads.

I’d also consider the possibility of a mask/hooded area for anonymity should most guys want that too.

I have a venue, full of props, play areas, dungeon etc. it is in South Shields and east to get to.

I was wondering if there is an appetite out there for something like this, what would be a reasonable entrance fee you’d be willing to pay to cover the venue hire and what times (afternoon/night) would be best.

It’s all hypothetical at the moment, but please let me know in the comments if it would be of interest to you.

Great reply and not selfish at all. I’d opt for an afternoon too if it was up to me, haha.

I get what you’re saying about guys leaving personal details etc, I was the same once, but I can assure you that all details are kept in the strictest of confidence …and when I say ‘all details’ it’s basically a copy of driving licence or passport. Even I won’t get to see them, nor would I want to. The reason for this is that the venue is a certified licenced Adult Lifestyle members only Club.

The membership is needed so sexual activity can lawfully be permitted on site. Membership and event costs are paid for in advance online, so no cash swaps hands. This allows us to control the guest list in advance and also take payment in advance (I need to ask the venue about a refund policy should lads not be able to make it…I’ll add that to my to do list).

So numbers will be regulated before the event takes place.

As for the event fee itself, I’m still in discussion with the hosts with that. All external events are £15 entrance, however, I’m willing to forgo my ‘share of the ticket’ to help drives costs down.

I’m really not in this for financial gain, I just want a safe space where bicurious/bi friendly folk can get together, break the ice and maybe explore to see if that lifestyle really is for them.

So, great questions and I really do appreciate you contributing and supporting. Keep eyes peeled for other updates.

I need to speak to the hosts to see if they can open on an afternoon as that seems to be the most popular time (so far at least).

I was maybe thinking 1500-2100 (negotiable) to accom the afternoon and those who want to attend on an evening too.

So initially the costs would be £10 for annual membership (we can’t get away from that) then £15 for the event. I may be getting that down to £10 though.

Moving forward, your membership would be sorted for the year so the events would only be £15-£10.

The entrance fee covers the staff, the costs (heating/lighting/music/condoms/lube/cleaning products etc) and helps keep the bar prices the lowest they can be.

So far, due to other events taking place, a Wed or Thur afternoon/evening seems the best bet.

I’m hoping to get the event set up as a safe space for everyone, but with a focus on those who consider themselves Bisexual but have no/limited experience, or those who are simply curious.

As Alora has said, the club do an Alter-Ego night I think which is for T-Girls and their Admirers, but you’d be warmly welcomed to the Bi event regardless and if you wanted to attend ‘dressed’ or get ‘dressed’ once arrived, that’s ok too.

That scenario has been considered, but the venues policy is only members can attend. So mambership is bought in advance and then the event is also prebooked and paid for in advance…so if 300 are interested and pay, but only three turn up, I’m sure it will be a fantastic night for those three, as I’d put a free bar on with the money the other 297 have paid

In all seriousness, it’s a good point as I’ve known this to happen, but it’s all booked and paid for online upfront, so we will have visibility of the number beforehand.

I understand your reservations. It’s only an idea and the area for hoods would be in the club itself, so guys would genuinely have to come into the club ‘as themselves’ before dressing down, going to the hooded area and holding up.

I wouldn’t allow hoods at the bar and in the social areas. It’s a safe space for all, and we should all be there for the same reason, ti be surrounded by like minded folk.

Hopefully you can make it when it goes ‘live’ as you would be made more than welcome.

This is EXACTLY what the event will be planned for. People may be curious and want to learn more or may even want to ‘try bi’ but have no where safe to go…or even know how to ‘get started’. That’s who this is aimed at. Then there are people who may turn up, give it a go but realise it’s not for them…and that’s ok too.

We plan to give you a chilled out, care free, environment, where you can be yourself in safe surroundings and be around other like minded people.

And if you want to get a group wank going, I’m sure I could join in if I’m not too busy making sure everyone is ok that is. Haha.

I’ve had confirmation from the hosts that the event CAN be held between the hours of 15:00 - 21:00.

This is fantastic news for us as it was the most popular time slot that was fed back to me and places the event within the catchment of those finishing work who may want to call in on their way home and those who want a night out, but not too late. (However, if you do want a later night, I’m happy to have a few drinks around shields once the event finishes, lol)

I am meeting with the hosts a week on Saturday and hopefully we can discuss potential dates and what is needed for marketing etc.

Just to reiterate;

The event will be held at a South Shields town centre Adult Lifestyle (swingers) Club.

The club requires membership due to its adult entertainment licence. This is ridiculously cheap at only £10 a year (other uk clubs can charge single guys in excess of six times that).

The entrance fee to the club ranges from only £10 to £15 depending on the event being held.

There is a licensed bar on the premises and music/lighting will be tailored to suit the vibe of the event.

And if you’re nice to me, I may even get you a drink in and give you a flash of my bum

Seriously guys, this is an event for you, it’s an event for me, it’s an event for all others like us in the community. So let’s get together and enjoy each others company….and make this a safe and enjoyable time for us all!!!

If the first couple of events are a success and demand for them is high, then we may explore the possibility of hosting them regularly, as well as the option to have ‘spin off’ events from it.

There are many great cheap hotels and B&Bs in and around South Shields, and you’d be made more than welcome to attend, should you be able to.

I’m fact, what an amazing ‘Ice Breaker’ that would be…a shout out/little joke award to the guy who has travelled the furthest distance to attend, haha. I like that idea!!!!

As you all know, we have a time slot agreed with the hosts. I am meeting them on Friday evening to thrash out a list of possible dates and entertainment etc. I’m also looking at marketing. As well as driving the event online, I’m also very keen on the idea of going ‘old skool’ and getting some flyers printed out.

If agreed, and depending on the volume of flyers, I may ask one or two of you to help me volunteer giving them out….maybe on a Saturday night around newcastles gay area?

I’m sure I could get you a pint or two to say thanks!

Albeit, not an overly exciting one, but I did say I would keep you guys updated.

A flyer style and content has been agreed.

Promotional T-shirts designed.

Flyer events pencilled in (to drum up interest).

Buy more importantly…….an event name has been decided (and it’s pretty good) and a couple of potential launch dates have been whittled down too.

I can’t say too much yet as I have a meeting on Friday, but I hope to finalise a date to launch the event then and hopefully share that with you over the weekend.

That’s brilliant to hear.

There are many fantastic independent B&Bs within walking distance to the venue.

Likewise, The Sea Hotel on the seafront do really good deals on rooms during the week and that is possibly only a 25min stroll from the venue.

And you’re exactly the target audience mate.

Lads who don’t have vast experience, are still curious but not sure where to go, what to do etc.

The event will be a chilled out, non-judgemental, discreet get together for lads like yourself and those of us more experienced to come together, chat, have a drink, exchange stories etc…but also giving you a safe space to ‘play’ with other people should you choose to.

Come along and if it’s not for you, then that’s ok. At least you’ve given it ago. If you do like it, then you’d be welcomed back with open arms and future attendances will be cheaper, it’s a win win!!!!

As you may or may not know, my account on here has been partially blocked as I’ve apparently broken the rules regarding pics/vids.

I don’t know what rules I’ve broken as I haven’t uploaded any pics for a while and all have been approved by admin. I’ve asked for clarity but heard nothing back.

Unfortunately, on sites like this you get a few ‘dark arts from certain people. Either people you have rejected or those who are affiliated to other clubs who may have taken exception to me promoting an event elsewhere. I hope this isn’t the case but it wouldn’t surprise me.

Anyway, with that in mind, I’m cautious that my account may end up being fully blocked. So, plan B is this…

I think you will find it difficult to get people to attend there's already one in Newcastle open all day every day that's well attended £19 11/11.

One that's open Wednesday's and gets a few but can also be empty.

A bi party is Stanley every month that is ok but could do with a lot more £25.

I've found there's lots on here that want to meet but won't go to clubs. Probably because the wife would ask questions.

I would be interested if it goes ahead and people attend.

Our event is targeting those who are ‘curious’ and want to explore more.

The times of 1500-2100 is designed to capture those lads on their ‘way home from work’ who may want to give it a go.

Fingers crossed there is the uptake from the initial interest

Thanks to those many guys who have reached out to me on another messaging service (mentioned above), unfortunately, I have now bee temporarily suspended from their too….so it looks like I may have inadvertently upset someone here and they are reporting my accounts.

Fear not, I have a Plan C & D & E & F etc. I’m just hoping thy I’m wrong and that it isn’t one jealous individual who is trying to ruin this event for us all.

I shouldn’t need to reiterate, but I will just in case individuals are still crying…

The event I WILL host is of NO financial gain to me…in fact, I will be losing money due to me paying for promotion materials etc.

The event is for EVERYONE. Even though the target audience are straight/bicurious guys, everyone who’s on the guest list will be welcomed with open arms.

The idea came from my fetish for cottaging

and talking to guys who felt it was “too risky” for them. It made me think that there are no safe spaces/support groups for lads who maybe in the closet or wanting to try, but don’t know how to begin.

The event was created with everyone’s best interests at heart and is in no way designed to exclude or offend anybody.

If I have offended you and you’ve felt the need to report me, then I can only apologise for the hurt I’ve caused you and hope that my words and ideas haven’t left a dent on your sensitive soul.

If however you still are suffering from my words and ideas then I’m happy to meet with you and talk about it…and maybe give you a hug.

ITS ALL SYSTEMS GO!!!!!

Gents, I can now CONFIRM that the event is a go. It will be taking place at Babylon in South Shields on 27/08/2026 between 1500 - 2100 and it’s cheekily called:

“TRY B4 U BI”

As before, this event is not affiliated to Fab (although I wish it was as I’d love their logo on our flyers).

It’s simply to create a space, and a welcoming vibe, for lads of all sexualities to be themselves for a few hours when they may not feel like they can otherwise.

It will be aimed at those ‘Straight’/Bicurious lads, with the onus on giving them some like minded folk to socialise and explore with (hence the events name)

But as long as you’re ‘Bi Friendly’ (and I know you lovely lot are) then you’ll be welcomed with open arms.

The event has an email address so I can send flyers out electronically to you, and stop spamming the poor people of Fab. If you would like to be to be put on the mailing list then please PM me.

As always, THANK YOU for your support gents, and thank you for supporting each other. Our community needs guys like you, now more so that ever before!!!! Xxx

We have already had several people confirm that they will be attending and the guest list will be managed to represent a fair mix of all sexes/sexualities.

For those of you who are not up to date and don’t want to scroll to the top:

We are hosting an event aimed at Bi/Curious folk who may just be starting in their Bi journey.

We are offering a safe space, away from persecution and prejudice, for people to explore and be themselves.

The event is in South Shields and will be on 27/08/2026 between 1500-2100.

EVERYONE is welcome, but prebooking is necessary due to the venues capacity.

The only stipulation is that you are at least ‘Bi-Friendly and respect all rules’.

Some questions I have so far been asked:

Q: can I come as a single male/female?

A: absolutely YES. The event is designed with singles in mind.

Q: is there a dress code?

A: Not as such, but if you’re calling in on your way home from work (ie a building site) then please bring something to change into. Wear what you would if going out with your mates on a weekend.

Q: can I bring my own drinks?

A: No. The venue offers a very affordable bar that sells alcohol, soft drinks and teas and coffees.

Q: is the venue disability friendly?

A: although the venue has members who used walking aids at times, unfortunately access is via a staircase which may prove difficult for some, however, we never discriminate and the hosts will be on hand to assist wherever we can as we want everyone to feel welcomed.

Q: will there be women at the event?

A: we NEVER reveal any details about anyone else on the guest list, but we do aim for a balanced and varied mix of people to represent all sexes and sexualities. If that puts you off then we make no apologies, some women are Bi too.

Q: Can I wear fetish outfits?

A: although the venue offers a FANTASTIC fetish and kink night, you are welcome to change into whatever you feel most comfortable in, providing it’s clean and not offensive.

Q: will there be Entertainment?

A: there will be music at a respectful level for the first half of the event, think cheesey disco, followed by something a little more upbeat as the lights lower and the venue ‘hots up’

Q: Why are you hosting this?

A: it’s simple really, please tell me of a place where Bi/gay people can meet in South Tyneside and can socialise with other like minded folk without the fear of getting ‘caught’, ‘arrested’, ‘persecuted’ or unfortunately ‘attacked’ by those who don’t like who we are?

Q: So where can I get tickets?

A: the booking link will be going live soon and there are many other chats/mailing lists you can be added to for updates. Please reach out to me for more details on those.

I like to call it a Hedonistic Lifestyle Club as there is no pressure to play there whatsoever. It’s a really nice venue, but yes, it’s probably the one you have heard about.

Tickets are selling well, thanks guys, and we’ve not even given the event the big push we are planning to…but we still will.

Decorations are on their way. Physical flyers have gone to print. T-shirts for staff are on order. Stick estimates done. Music set list, created.

All we need now is more if you horny lot. Tops, bottoms, vers, curious bi/gay/straight…it doesn’t matter.

This is an even for all, but showing respect and empathy towards those who are new to the bi scene, or those with little experience, nerves and low self esteem etc. it really is ok.

Just come and be yourself, do what you want to do, and have fun. This is a release from the outside world, even if for only a couple of hours.

Give it a go. I’ll be there (don’t let that put you off) but if boobs are also your thing, my wife will be there too and she has a proper cracking pair, hahahaha.

Come and have some fun guys. You deserve it!

Due to unexpected demand, a second guest list is being drawn up as we think we may sell out before we’ve even done our ‘big push campaign’

I’m really overwhelmed, and humbled, by not only you guys in our community (who have been as awesome as always) but by straight allies, both men and women, singles, couples etc, who have already booked.

Some are coming to play, some are coming to chill and feel the vibe. So thank you all for buying into this idea.

Just to add my view on the above couple of posts.

The new CD/TS event is called ‘Club Alter Ego’ and is also slowly gaining traction. Again, it’s a night targeted at a particular audience, but everyone is welcome.

My advice would be to have a look at the clubs website, have a look at the events, and simply give them a go.

If you don’t like it, you don’t have to do it again. But if you don’t do it, how do you know you won’t like it????

And just because I’m me and I’m pushing for TRY B4 U BI… is like to point out the TS/CDs are also going to be welcomed with open arms, haha. In all honesty, I’ve been told I have amazing legs for stockings, so if you ladies do come, I may be picking your brains a little
