There were as many Scots in the British Government army as in the Jacobite army at Culloden. A significant number of Englishmen from the north of England were Jacobites.

Actually it was on the route from Britain to India via the Suez canal (and back). Cabins on that side of the ship got the morning sun but were in the shade during the heat of the day that would not apply crossing the

north Atlantic to the USA. |
