Yeah this is an excellent point, the hygiene of them is poor. I have one and its made of metal and after use i boil it in boiling water. The majority of these out there though are made of plastic, and then you have the problem that if you have the wrong size of chastity cock device then you can do yourself a harm. I have three cages myself, it was more a case of trial and error to find the one that worked best for me.

The first two both rely on the larger locking ring being the correct size, too small and your doing yourself a harm, too large and your balls will slip through and not be locked in. The other point about these that i have were the way the cage came together, it was cumbersome and could often result in pinching of skin, which was very uncomfortable.

The third one that i recently got was an all in one cage and was designed similar to a handcuff, so the locking ring is like chain link handcuff that allows you to wrap around to the locking mechanism at the top, its a keylock and its all metal.

Metal are best for keeping clean, i like to every so often stick these in boiling water to sterilise it, its risky to do this with plastic cages.
