Becoming a member at Pipeworks?

How do you actually become a member?

The website says "membership is £9 per year, but sign up or renew on a Monday or Wednesday and it's free...."

I'm happy to become a member, especially if it's free (every penny's a prisoner...) but do I have to visit the premises just to become a member, or can I do it online?

Just become a member when you first visit Pipeworks, at the reception.

No facility online to become a member, as far as I can see. Besides, why become a member before you intend to visit? You'd be wasting days/weeks of your time left as a member.

Yes it’s a private members club for licensing reasons, I believe. As has been said, you just join on your first visit. They just need a name. It’s not an online thing.

I joined on a Wednesday when I visited for the first time in years, as it was free. You still have to pay £19 every time you visit. Wednesdays are great as, for an extra pound, you get a drink at the bar and peppers. Membership is worth it. I've not looked back and, even if it's quiet and no interest, it's a good place to chill, relax and feel safe

My personal view is that for all the costs they must have, recent refurbishment, the niche market and the lack of any alternatives, that £19 is a great deal.

For £19 you're allowed to stay for up to 12 hours. At weekends you can stay overnight for up to 12 hours.

I go nearly every 2 weeks. Only day I haven't tried is a Sunday, so tomorrow will be my first Sunday.

When I was last in there were posters about an app with your membership card, never looked into it but try your App store?

"Another lovely afternoon. Some beautiful young guys. "

Is it mostly "beautiful young guys" that attend?

Absolutely ALL ages, shapes, sizes and interests. Not seen many TV/CDs, admittedly but since I wouldn't be interested it doesn't bother me. Just go, see how you get on for yourself. Everyone is different, so no point in listening to others

Yes I think it's value for money. You have a better chance to find fun in Pipeworks than you have on Fab.

I'll be at Pipeworks tomorrow after 12pm.
