Looking for accomodation close to Royal Infirmary, with easy access for visitors on 1st and 2nd June, any help appreciated

Most Edinburgh hotels have some sort of keycard access. There is a Travelodge at Cameron toll near to the hospital which has a rear entrance, so you can meet guests there without being in direct line of sight of reception.

What’s the difficulty about taking a guest into the hotel openly?

Many have a bar for public use and staff do not bother about a resident’s guests

Hotel staff don't care what you do in the room so long as you don't wreck it or disturb other guests.
