I recently spoke with a larger gentleman who told me that Pipeworks is only for younger people. That’s simply not true.

Pipeworks welcomes people of all ages, body types, backgrounds, and identities. Whether you’re young or old, slim or large, local or visiting, everyone deserves to feel comfortable and respected.

The venue has a clear policy against bullying, discrimination, ageism, or body shaming. If anyone experiences or witnesses inappropriate behaviour, staff encourage them to speak to reception so the matter can be dealt with appropriately.

One of the things that makes the community special is its diversity. It would be wonderful to see even more older men and larger men feeling confident and welcome to come along, socialise, and enjoy the space.

Respect, inclusion, and kindness should always be for everyone.

It’s a very mixed crowd everytime i have been. A couple of times there’s been prissy wee twinks who think they are too good for everybody but guess what, they were the ones getting the least attention.

Some of them are, but just ignore them. I can’t be bothered with precious twinks. I like a man to be a man, chubby preferably.

It’s a general assumption between the ol queens, they won’t go because they’re afraid of being insulted, and that’s a real fact. Lots of younger gays are very agresive. It was about unity and Love is Love but some of these little twinks are incredibly self absorbed and rude and disrespectful towards those who fought for their rights.

I am now 74, tubby and I've been to Pipeworks a few times over the past 2 years. The staff are very friendly and I have not encountered any threats, insults or generally any bad behaviour.

The first time I went to Pipeworks, I was very nervous, but I needn't have worried - I got someone's attention right away and each time I go it is different and you never know what to expect, which makes it exciting.

Because I have limited time, I can only visit the sauna around midday during the week and stay for a couple of hours. I find that this works out ok, because there are lots of older men go at that time too.

That’s not strictly true. My pal who is older and lardier than me loves a twink and I reckon he gets at least one at least 50% of the time.

If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes I would not have believed it.

Some twinks do like an older fatter man.

Everyone likes what they like I guess.
