Are they any good after dark at this time of year?

It's definitely busier during the day when it's warmer. A lot of guys like to feel the sun on their bodies. Still some action in the early evening. There are probably other spots that are better for after-dark cruising and don't require such a walk.

Can anyone post a w3w for this spot please? Never been able to find it. Might be nice weather to try again!

Inverkeithing

You get there through the nature reserve at Aberlady. The bridge into it is opened.apron.assures on w3w. There’s a small car park and a bus stop if using public transport. The path to the beach takes about half an hour on foot I’d say but the beach is beautiful so it is worth it. The way to the beach is fairly obvious when you’re there.

Action is usually in the dunes at the north end, joggers.hoping.collected is roughly the right sort of area from my experience but I’m happy to be corrected.

I believe it’s possible to get to the beach from the other end from Gullane but I don’t know how easy it is.

You can navigate across the golf course from the back of Gullane village but it can be tricky. Nicest way is as you describe via reserve and beach. Once you are near the cruising part, just watch out for meerkats bobbing up and down in the grass behind the beach - checking out the fresh meat..

It is a bit of a walk, but a very nice walk.
