Would the Gay/Bi/swingers community welcome a new high quality sauna and adult B&B in the Llangollen area. Accessible by car and public transport. Potentially offering lounge cafe bar, changing and showers, 12 person sauna, 12 person steam, a 4 and 6 person hot tub, chill out areas, private cabins, playroom and video suite as well as outdoor chillax area. What days / hours / themes would the community like to see. Any insight would be appreciated.

Llandudno/Colwyn Bay would be a better location. Further away from the competition and covering more of North Wales

Llangollen seems like a great location, boasting stunning natural beauty and situated along the picturesque River Dee.

The town offers a range of hostelries and restaurants and a nostalgic vintage railway running along the superb setting of the Dee Valley making it an attractive destination.

It's also easily accessible to the more densely populated areas of Wrexham, Deeside, Chester, Wirral, Merseyside, and Shrewsbury, as well as the West and North Midlands, with good road connections via the A539/A483/A5/A55/M54.

Regular bus connections from Wrexham and its train stations add to its convenience.

Yes please!!! North Wales needs one. Nothing at all here since Jacks Hydro shut down in Penmaenmawr a few years ago.

Thank you. Very much agree. The accessible population from across the border and its recognition as a destination for outdoor activities is important.

I don’t want to put a dampener on your idea but I would suggest you contact as many gay/ bi saunas as you can to find out what business is like. I’ve read that many of them are struggling to make a living so be careful to do plenty of research before committing money to your idea.

My pleasure, Patrick. Llangollen is a great accessible location, situated between the North West and Midlands conurbations, making it an attractive prospect for those seeking anonymity away from their own areas.

I echo Bluegrass's sound advice:- thorough market research is crucial. Take the time to visit the nearest facilities to you, casually inquire about their busyness, and observe their activity on the day.

Your proposed venture will undoubtedly require a significant commitment, so a sound business plan is essential, especially during these challenging economic times when disposable income for luxuries like saunas and short breaks is scarce.

Nevertheless, I wish you all the very best in your proposed venture!

"Did Jacks close because it was not financially viable? "

Possibly, it was getting a little tired looking at the end, but I think it was mainly so the owners could realise their assets and enjoy retirement.

As to a new sauna/meeting place, I think we’d all welcome that, whether in Llangollen or Llandudno/colwyn bay.

I understand the scale and draw of Northwich - but it is also vast and not suited to everyone. It’s 83 miles from Bangor where Llangollen is 53 (just as an example distance). Also isn’t the boarded up windows approach a bit out of date? Can’t the community have somewhere nice to visit too?

There is a long thread in the Lounge area of the forums titled ‘Are Saunas Finished’ if you haven’t yet seen it have a look, there might be some useful information in it for you.

I think this would be great as we don’t have anything this side. A bear day once a month would be nice for people who feel more comfortable and up for going to those days.

Friday, Sat, sun and bank holiday events would be good. A hot tub would be good and linking up with the sexual health service to be able to provide condoms and lube. If you provide towels don’t make them white 😂

I think if you can find the sweet spot between covering overheads and making a profit without charging a high entrance fee that would be great and ensure you get footfall.

With the demise of the one in Penmaenmawr this would be most welcome and especially for me as Llangollen is not too far. Hopefully as well as bi days and cd/tv days there would be specific 'men only' days which would be of great interest to me.

Never got round to going. A friend did when holidaying in North Wales. Went on a very quiet day as he was the only one in there for quite awhile. Eventually a local farmer came in and they had some fun but still had the place to themselves most of that time.
