There may be a logical answer, I have seen vehicles parked up in laybys with the back door open whether loaded or not. Is this a sign for fun or a logical answer pm me if you do not want to post.

It's to prevent theft. Shows nothing inside rather than busting the locking mechanism.

If its loaded and open its generaly somthing that cant be carried away or not worth trying to steel. Bottles, cans paper etc
