Most cars drive by slowly looking at you. Some almost pause and stare towards your cockpit and you know they're hoping to see something, but at that moment I'm not showing anything. Thing is, you don't know how they look or who they are until they actually come parallel with you. I mean, some look scary to me and I look at my phone to show I'm not interested. I will smile if they look friendly. The hope, is that the friendly one will park up and stroll back towards your car. Even then you can decide whether show something or just engage in a brief chat. If I'm too nervous I just chat. If I feel I need to be touched I hint that way and show something. For me, I like to stop there briefly when returning from recycling centre.
