Out for a walk here recently. Noticed some signage for cctv trail cameras, along with some slightly concerning graffiti suggesting certain people or vehicles are being monitored. Just wondered wether anyone has had any issues here of late?

Think there is just a heavier police presence there but don’t think much goes on anymore anyway not like it used to be

I have also seen a lot more police cars patrolling the lanes in the last few weeks.

Thanks for the thoughts all. Perhaps outdoor activities have moved a bit further afield then. A shame!

For many years it used to be a very popular cruising area, until it got abused with guys leaving litter and not being sufficiently discreet particularly in the area surrounding the primary school.

Over the years the cops have had spells of regular patrols in response to local complaints, particularly in relation to the proximity to the primary school, after a few weeks of patrols they normally ceased until the next public complaint.

However in recent years, the landowners have thinned the woodlands out and made it more accessible to walkers and they have also thinned out the areas where the public generally didn't venture but where guys used for cruising purposes, so nowadays there are no woodland areas that are hidden away from the nearby lanes though the Dobshill / Penymynydd woods.

If you cross the bridge over the bypass, there are more discreet areas for fun
