Would you rather a response to a message "im not interested thanks / no thanks?" Or a straight up instant block.

I think a polite no thank you is good manners. Interested in others thoughts on the matter

I agree, "no thank you" is straightforward, polite and can be changed if circumstances change later !

Agreed. But persistent messages without taking notice of the original polite response, will be blocked.

honesty 1st, if that doesn't work i tend to just ignore and not reply. in the end they normally block me. I take that as a win for me

The majority seem to take a polite no thank you as an invite to be abusive or the child like, but whyyyyyy?

I’ve learnt you’ll never win.

Much prefer a message back telling me im not their type rather than message just being deleted or blocked. Too many people without manners these days.

Agreed had a guy who lives close to me kept messaging for a meet, even though I told him no as I don’t meet so close to home, wouldn’t take no for an answer so no option but to block him
