I think it's a listed building, so theoretically safe. But yeah, Cardiff council are uncultured yobs who'll knock anything down for cash.

When I first moved to Cardiff 23 years ago I thought I’d check out a few pubs in town. I went into the Golden Cross and had a couple of beers and got chatting to this guy. I didn’t even consider it was a gay pub and felt quite at home until he said to me “you’re taking a risk coming in here wearing those joggers” so confused I asked what he meant “you have a cute arse and a bulge to die for” was his reply before telling me it was a gay bar. I actually found that to be a great compliment. I’m a lot older and wider now so I don’t think I’d get the same compliment again. lol
