"What is prep ? Who is it good for. As I’ve spoken and the person said doesn’t wear condoms as on prep. What would tgat mean to me if I’m not on prep ???" Prep is an anti viral Protects against HIV but there are other nasties it does nothing to stop Hepatitis probably isn't fun..

"I take Prep daily so can’t catch HIV, I have been vaccinated for hep B & hep C So if someone is taking Prep unlikely they will have HIV But they can have other STIs unfortunately So if you meet other people and play without condoms, Prep will protect you for catching HIV, but doesn’t protect from other diseases " But correct me if I’m wrong to be given Prep, you need to be tested for everything at the clinic every 3 months? I only know one person who is on it and that is what they told me anyway?

"That's correct and usually routine, and in addition to frequent blood tests as Prep can affect the kidney function. Although regular testing is good practice anyway as not all STIs have symptoms." So meeting someone on prep is safer than meeting someone who isn’t because you know they are regularly tested for all stis and almost no chance of getting hiv. Condoms always wise though in my opinion

"I wouldn't assume anyone is safe, no matter what they say. Also, Prep only aims to protect the anal receiver from contracting Hiv - so, like others have said there's many other types of infection out there, some of which show no symptoms. Using a condom for anal is safer, but other contact methods (kissing, oral, rimming) are just as likely to pass something on. It's entirely on you to protect yourself - what others choose to do is their funeral." Makes sense. Thanks 👍🏼
