It's not easy to begin with but you'll soon learn the signs. People sometimes flash their brakes lights or walk around and discreetly grab their crotch. You might see guys disappear into woods for a long time, you know then they aren't just going to the toilet. Some guys walk right past your car, close enough to see if you're playing with yourself. Prolonged eye contact is another sign.

One thing that definitely doesn't work is just sitting in your car doing nothing. Unfortunately this happens a lot. Also, if you're in a layby don't leave your car lights on.
