Every time I browse these profiles, I become more convinced that I’ll be handling things myself until my last breath.
I genuinely never expected gay men to look rougher than straight guys. I was prepared for the drama — obviously — but I did think the visual standards would be doing a bit more work.
Then you add the inability to hold a basic conversation, the lack of ambition, the absence of curiosity or aspiration… and I’m left wondering: what the hell happened?
What happened to the gay men who used to influence things — from science to art, culture, taste, aesthetics, language, fashion, ideas? Where is that energy? Where is that standard? Because on these apps, I’m mostly seeing exhaustion, bad lighting, and emotional unemployment.
