Interests
Over the past few years I’ve met just a few people on websites who have become and remained close and highly valued friends. I’m very grateful to them for their affection and support. I’m a retired university teacher, specialising in linguistics. Not surprisingly one of my main interests is in foreign languages and cultures, especially Spanish, French, Italian and Dutch. Food and wine are a source of particular enjoyment and interest, and I enjoy eating out with friends. Also extremely important in my life is classical music. I’ve been playing the piano since childhood and very much enjoy going to concerts - orchestral, choral or of chamber music – and get particular pleasure from listening to, as well as playing, classical piano music. I’m a member of a group of people who are seriously interested in the piano and its music and meet regularly to play for one another.
