I was just looking at my block list and realised there's a few people that I know I have definitely blocked that are no longer on there, i was just wondering what this means?

Are they no longer blocked or are did they delete their profiles?

FRANCE, no longer in

When people delete their profile and leave the site all traces of them in block lists, verifications, friends list etc completely disappear for ever. If by chance they manage to come back with the same name that doesn't reinstate the name on to previous block lists etc.

Worth remembering age, height specifics. We have a local character who comes and goes quite often. Usually with a gold account. His blurb used to be a repeat, with a description of the activity. He comes across as a bit sinister so it feels "reassuring" to have that control of access. Site obviously registers IP addresses (your phone has previously been certified, the message you receive when you join) maybe the block could be at IP level. Not username?

Blocking the ID address is certainly doable as i got in a heated debate on a bodybuilding forum and i got banned and it was my ID address.

I don't think the owners on here want to Block ID address as it's lower income

IP addresses are not normally static for home and mobile users

Most ISP’s issue a “Lease” on an IP address through DHCP (dynamic host configuration protocol) [unless you are paying for a static address], while some may renew the lease on expiry, others may not, and if rebooted your router or phone will most likely get a new IP address.

The better (but not foolproof) way would be to capture the MAC (Machine Address Code) of the network adapter (which is supposed to be unique) but if you have more than one adapter (one wired and one wireless for example) they will have different MAC addresses, so switching from wired to wireless would appear as different devices.

Perhaps if they then block you their name disappears from your list

I’ve noticed that there is a profile that every so often shows up on updates as new to the site, it has same pic and username, also I did see that this person mentioned that he has another account with a different name. So I decided to block him even though I’ve never been in contact with him just to see what happens, low and behold he disappeared from my block list and was still returned as a new profile but everything was still the same.

I regularly pre-emptively block guys who I’ve blocked on an old profile if I recognise them. Saves time and hassle 😂

But this person doesn’t know me and has never contacted me in anyway. It’s just when I look at updates I notice his profile shows up as a new user with the exact same name and profile picture, just seems strange cause when I leave site I can’t come back with same name

Are you sure? I know of one profile that is created, deleted (not just hidden) and recreated at least once a week, with the same username, that requires blocking anew every time.

Plus if they're using a mobile based isp that lease is usually only a couple of hours long and in most cases a reboot is enough to fet a new external ip

Dundee (Barnhill)

.

Probably not in play here but:

When this came up before in a Forum, a Mod contributed that the database holds a finite number of blocked-names per user. It is quite large but let's say hypothetically it were 200: if you block number 201 then someone falls off the end of your block list to make room. Room is of course made if a blocked deletes their profile.

I know that when someone deletes their account they disappear off your blocked list but, how can they come back with the same username

They are not enter fearing with me, just it’s annoying to see them show on the update news as “just joined fabguys “

Either they have left the site and closed their accounts, or (I think) your list is more than 100 entries and they have dropped off the bottom of the display list (think it only shows you the first 100).
