Because it would be stupid saying it on the rest of the months days!

Well you did ask!

Serious answer is; White rabbits (especially their feet) are meant to represent good luck, so this became another way of welcoming the new month. The mention of white rabbits stretches as far back as 1909, where it's found in a British periodical book called 'Notes and Queries.

Maybe the lucky rabbits foot (not for the poor rabbit) is just easier to carry about than the whole rabbit.

Touch wood, I’ll never be superstitious!

One of my earliest memories is of being at my nans, and her asking me and my siblings which rabbit we would like (she had lots). We pointed one out, and she said ‘good choice’. Then she proceeded to pick it up by its ears, kill it with a swift blow across the neck, then gut and bone it. My sister was in floods, but I remember watching, mesmerised.

She taught me how to do it, and chickens and ducks over the next few years.

Come the apocalypse, I still might be eating meat, even though it might be rats or something lol.

Wild game is actually leaner meat and very good for you. I've skinned, gutted and boned but not killed an animal.
