Anyone else on here circumcised as a child? Obviously without their permission. I was cut as a baby and suffer the loss. I can fully understand circumcision on medical grounds, but please please dont mutilate your boys for any other reason. Its an outdated barbaric practice that has no significance in modern day society.

I have been saying this for years. Female circumcision is deplored all over the world and banned in all civilized countries, but for no good reason chopping a baby boys cock about is still not only allowed but is considered normal. And don't anyone dare say 'it's cleaner' that's rubbish we have had soap and water for centuries.

To the OP - bravo sir! Well said. My view entirely. Indistinguishable in principle from FGM but seems entirely acceptable! Let a guy decide when he reaches an age to make those decisions for himself, unless a clear medical need for it develops beforehand.

Quite right, I meant to add it is only acceptable for medical reasons,, but there is surgery for the relief of a tight foreskin without full circumcision.

I worked and lived in the USA for ten years. 95% of the guys I met were circumcised! The only ones with a foreskin were Europeans!

One guy I went with had never seen let alone played with an intact cock.

I got the impression prior to relocating back to civilisation, that there was a small but growing trend for keeping the foreskin intact!!

Ha, well pointed. Had it chopped away as a kid. Would never suggest to anyone for non medical reasons. It should be called MGM and detested as is FGM.

For kids and adults having phimosis or infections though that's a different scenario.

You're not wrong there.

It's an appallingly wrong practice on every level .... and being undertaken under the guise (protection?) of being part of one cultural/religious tribe or other doesn't excuse its inherent & inexcusable barbarity.

Stop cutting bits off of boys penises!

In 2012, a German court ruled that male circumcision amounted to bodily harm and that the child's right to be protected was more important than religious freedom. Well, that went down well with politicians who feared a backlash from religious communities. Despite the court ruling, male circumcision is still legal in Germany.

The court's decision was viewed by some as being antisemitic, reminiscent of Germany's nazi past.

I can't see the practice being banned as most politicians would be unwilling to take on two of the world's major religions.

I like having a cut cock! I didn't choose it. It was done because of a Jewish 'briss or britt' baptismal ceremony in the first month of life. I am an atheist these days but just like having what I've got. Can't see it as a big issue for males. Female genital mutilation is barbaric and much more of a health hazard - and often done much later ......

I was 21 when had mine done for medical reasons and I'm very happy with the job they did. Saying its like the female genetial mutilation is a bit of offence tbh.

It should be the same thing penalised by law. Cutting off a piece of screaming childs dick is savage.

In this age of litigation I bet there would be a law suit from the Film Company over that!!

It is, of course, nothing less than fantastic that you're perfectly happy with your circumcised penis. However, I'm genuinely curious how anyone cut at such an early age can be entirely happy without a foreskin if they have no concept whatsoever of what they're missing? It's not like you can live the sensations you've been denied through someone else's, is it?

It's a ridiculous practice doing anything like this to a tiny baby - always thought this. Slightly surprised so many others think similar - got the impression was more accepted as the norm. Certain noisy religious and cultural segments of society need a serious talking to in all probability.

Why were we given foreskins if only to get them hacked off? Can understand it if there is a problem but not if it is perfectly healthy. Fortunately uncut myself and prefer uncut cocks.

Cut here at eight days old, cultural/religious practice amongst my folk (the mohel happened to be also a paediatric surgeon sonall done very neatly); never known any different so it makes no difference to me. Struggle to get my [upper] head round this notion of feeling mu*ilated, abu*ed or stripped of my rights and... 💤💤

I totally agree and have always believed circumcision to be barbarous and mutilation. I imagine like eating pork which goes off quickly in high temperatures the origins of this practice in Judaism and Islam had its roots in the practicality of promoting hygiene in an arrid land and nomadic populations , where water was scarce and reserved for consumption rather than daily bathing .

In today’s world there should be no place for it , without a medical need.
