Bad News v Good News

So much doom and gloom around and the media are hellbent on scaremongering us all to think the planet is about to explode long gone has the feel good factor in the news, why is it only the negative stories get the coverage now, where is the good news? The positive stories in the world, surely they’re out there, why aren’t the media covering these stories?

I stopped watching the news properly at the beginning of the year, occasionally catching headlines and little snippets, but that’s it, i can’t take anymore negative press.

Do you have any good news?

I take joy in the little things in life. I now appreciate things I previously took for granted

Unfortunately, it appears that a negative spin has to be put on everything, everything is "awfulised" and we only hear about worst-case scenarios as a result. No wonder morale is low - it sucks the energy out of you!

I agree with you I tend not to watch the news myself

If it’s not covid then it’s young kids Being murdered or mistreated usually by family members

On the plus side it’s nearly Christmas and I got the all clear from the clap clinic x

I stopped watching the news years ago for the same reason. Negative stories painted in the starkest darkest way possible.

Some good news….

If you stop letting that negativity into your mind, positive thoughts just naturally take over and that positive energy lifts you and those around you. People talk about the power of positive thinking, well it was scientifically proven a while ago (I’d have to dig out the source) but people just walking past a closed off room where other people were meditating experienced an increase in endorphin levels.

So being positive helps not only yourself but those around you. Turn the news off

The damn media love to make everything sound like the end of the world always sneaking in words like might and could which basically mean that they done know. I have found SKY news particularly bad for this and now ignore them. I have to say that despite the odd exception this crisis has reinforced my community and made people realise what is important

Here is some good news. Flu seems banished again. I know not a soul with a bad case of it, unless you know otherwise.

Most inspirational post I've read all year..

.

to hear a bird singing.to see a dog happy to see you..to see a child playing hopscotch...to see the snow gently falling ..it's the small things that matter...after all.

I m lucky if I know whether we ve got a king or queen, what day, time or month it is..I spend all my time out in the styx, outside of society and it's sooo good. My good news is more the creatures I get to spend time with, the sights and experiences, that's what makes me smile. The news media and just about everything else has become a joke, that you just can t trust. Even reels on fb can t be trusted as real thanks to AI, so I just don't bother, spending my time in my own reality

A good news story, would be, if were told how much longer the projected life of the planet will be after we have all been forced to buy electric cars.

They could also add to that the figures from how much power is generated from the wind turbines, whilst they are still.

And finally it has been decided that all the misbehaving young adults will be put into chain gangs, they will then go round and pick up all the disposable vapes, fast food wrappers and drinks containers that litter our streets and headroom.

Now the weather " Scorchio"

With their allocated 30mins they have to fill it with their opionists and correspondents drowning on and on. The word 'could' should be abolished from news.

"Not much news tonight, here's 20mins of Tom & Jerry" would better

I stopped watching the news during Covid and haven't really returned.

I catch the odd news bulletin on the radio during the day, but 6pm would usually be on when I did my tea and I only really tune in now to catch the weather forecast.

Plenty of good stuff still going on in the world...

Sadly with acres of papers and 24 hr so called news cycles both on tv and on line to fill with words and pictures, we get very little actual news. It's mostly gossip of the sort the old mammies used to chat about over the fence. Some z list actor snogging another Z list actor isn't news FFS
