Doesn't humidity go up when it rains?

Rain is the result of high relative humidity - so a decent storm usually reduces humidity. Bring it on!

Who remembers the heatwave of 1976, how hot, but more importantly, how long, and the consequences?

"Who remembers the heatwave of 1976, how hot, but more importantly, how long, and the consequences?"

I do. The heat was so severe it was cracking the flags.

And years later my sister was diagnosed with skin cancer on the top of her head, successfully dealt with, and the oncologist reckoned there was a good chance it was caused by sunburn over the summer of 1976 as he'd seen a spike in the number of similar cases. So make sure you apply plenty of SPF50 on any part of you that might be exposed to the sun too much. Better safe than sorry.

I use the rain radar at a site called netweather.tv, along with lightningmaps.org, to keep track of incoming storms.

Yesterday was snow and thunderstorms down here. Wild and freezing. Closed airports. Crept up to the capital overnight. I had a flight through the storm last night. Hairy landing but I trust the folks up front
