" A week crossing the Atlantic from Southampton to New York. If it wasn’t for my beautiful friends and the lovely staff, it would have been the dullest vaccination I’ve ever been on. Had to dress for dinner every night - such a pretentious load of old wank. Mostly daily mail readers, or the American, German, French, Russian, etc, equivalent there of. You could tell they couldn’t wait to tell their friends (the Joneses) all about having dinner at the Captain’s table. The most enjoyable part was discovering the life stories of the staff who looked after us, they were all lovely people and far better than 95% of my fellow passengers. I’d rather a wet weekend in Rhyl now." You’d get more fun in Rhyl.

A bit of homework here would not have come amiss. We're did one in November. Not our favourite but you really should realise that dressing up for dinner is part and parcel of the experience. We've only done two but much preferred the Med cruise. We're on a Celebrity cruise from Rio to New York on the 27th April. Really looking forward to it. " “…. repositioning cruise where a large number of days are spent at sea.” I’m on a repositioning cruise Rio to Lisbon next month on NCL Norwegian Star. Fairly casual and three ports in Brazil plus several islands mid-Atlantic en route to visit. But, yes, do your research to make it’s what you want.
