Trump’s orders

Which ones do you think are out of order?

I start with the first one

Restoring Names that Honour American Greatness so he renamed Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America

I looked at the map of East and West Florida from United States in 1792 and it clearly says Gulf of Mexico

Can you make America great with deleting its history ? I am gobsmacked how can the intelligent people be behind him absolutely no idea ? As Martin said :

Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

It's all for his domestic audience, renaming the gulf of Mexico to gulf of America may play well in the US but I doubt if anyone else will label it that way, I'm sure I read somewhere that Musk suggested renaming the English channel to the George Washington channel lol. As for his domestic orders I suspect many will spend years in the US court system working their way up to the supreme court.

He can call it what he likes but everyone else will continue to call it the Gulf of Mexico, a name, as someone else has pointed out, it has had since before Mexico officially existed as a country. After all there is a stretch of water that we call the English Channel but the French and other countries call it by other names.

Google Maps have said they will only do the name change for US users, if and when it passes the legislation process. For the rest of the world 'locally accepted names' will be used. Not exactly a ringing endorsement

He gets 2 years to do anything, probably a bit less.

That's because the Reps could lose control of either House in the mid terms.

Look how that went badly for the Dems.

If you want to stop any President doing impulsive things on day one, you need a system which encourages long term.

Trump might be a risk taker, but he's not stupid.

He knows how this thing works now.

I enjoy that he is disarming in that he met with Putin & Kim Jong-Un. Other leaders do not because they are more comfortable keeping them at arms length as if they are boogie men.

He says inflammatory things which I don’t believe he means again to disarm and provoke.

A typical argument is comparing him to Hitler based on upping border security but that is a basic of a country. Another basic is economy which he is clearly passionate about and pushing people to do more to get more. Again standards.

He’s a disrupter , which is a big gamble for a national leader in the modern world of globalism . That said, often disrupters are needed to achieve change. I find him morally repugnant and couldn’t bring myself to vote for him, in the same way as I would never vote for Farage, or his so called Party (until recently a PLC). As I’m not an American citizen, so it’s not a big issue though. Strange how he seems to like Starmer and considers he’s doing a good job isn’t it ? Mind you, he also likes Putin ….

What, one who supports anti-abortionists, thinks other countries will bend to our will and wash our dirty laundry, one who lies incessantly about economics, even in front of economists at Davos(!) and who releases dangerous convicted criminals back into society after a few years? Is that how you want to “put Britain first”t?

Bloody hell!

Nothing uncaring about it after all Labour isgoing to build lots of houses so they can empty the hotels of illegal migrants.

That’s a very Jack Nicholson , the Belgrano had all day sailed in and out off the exclusion zone,

The South Walians have long had a political chip on their shoulders!! Since Churchill sent the troops in to disband the rebellious miners in 1926!!

Thatcher had no alternative, the coal industry was destroyed by Arthur Scargill and those he hoodwinked into following him, the industry was simply bled dry of funding by pure greed on his part, both for political power and forever asking for More! More! and yet still More!! ... until there was simply no more to give, no more to reinvest in modernising the industry, they simply priced themselves out of the market for coal!

Foreign coal was imported because it was much cheaper than Welsh and other British coal simply because it didn't have huge labour costs built into the price unlike British coal!

UK miners shot themselves in the foot under Scargill's guidance, his agenda was to destroy the establishment and then seize political power but he severely underestimated the sheer determination and might of the Iron Lady who stopped the scourge of trade unionists from totally destroying the UK!!

Now the tables have turned and huge wave of destruction is coming from within the corridors of power...no doubt sitting in his comfy Yorkshire manor with an equally comfortable NUM pension old Arthur will be smiling from ear-to-ear at the tactics of Comrade Starmeroffski and his motley inept crew!

There are always alternatives, the crushing of the unions impoverished us all, allowing the current ability of rich companies to underpay staff & let the government pick up the bill.

Coal needed reform, it was a dying industry but it should not have been at the human cost, proper investment in mining areas would have meant less of a north /south divide now.

Sensible

Now tell us how you feel about AI centres and expansion of Heathrow?"

AI centers…build them in the North to counteract the spend on everything going to the SE. Heathrow? Again more transport spending in the SE how about spending on regional airports to spread the wealth.

"He dont give a fuck your right.

WISHED OUR LEADERS WERE SAME..wheres Maggy ? 😉

Putting Maggie who cared about the rule of law and institutions and trump in the same category is wild even for a non fan of neither

Well apart from using the police as a paramilitary force during the miners strike. Cosying up to dictators. Sinking the Belgrano.etc

Taken - but she wasn't a threat to democracy. Was she? I can't truly say I wasn't politically aware at the time. But I don't hear or feel that she was a threat to democracy as much of a monster as she was to Wales and believe me that's still real.

She was not in the business of insurrection, according to a recent book on the last queen, she tried to affect a royal demenour but that isn’t the same as Trump, the poll tax could be seen as an assault on democracy, tying voting to paying tax…

This is why left almost always loose, let me take a wild guess on your opinion on the Starmer, he's a red Tory

Why do the left always loose?

Starmer? To be decided.

Because they seem and actually do attack othe lefties they are puritanical the way the right aren't (mostly)

They seem nit picky and righteous. "

Apologies, still not getting your point.

How could there be investment in the coal industry when Scargill demanded every penny to meet his demands for totally unrealistic wages? There was simply nothing to reinvest, the kitty was empty!! Simple basic economics there!!! "

Ah …the we can’t afford it trope. I don’t believe that unrealistic demands were made..if so then negotiation without the threat of imprisonment might have worked.

"To make Britain great again we should rename it......

.

Hold on, I have an idea . . . what about calling it Great Britain

🤔🤔🤔🤔

How about 'Uncaring Britain?'

Lots of good examples of that.

Then the brits wouldn't be deluding themselves.

Nothing uncaring about it after all Labour isgoing to build lots of houses so they can empty the hotels of illegal migrants.

I'm sure the homeless of Britain will not complain and if they do we can table them right wing thugs.

...

...

Homelessness under the last lot. Short memories....

Re the labelling not extreme right-wing?"

So no homelessness between 97 to 2010? Is that what you are saying?

I can assure you it was not.

If you look at the past 14 years of government we have had the Conservatives in place.

So far they have been able to wreak havoc, for anyone to suggest that after 6 months in government they can then compare this 6 months in government of Labour track record to 14 years! is quite frankly ludicrous..

The Bullingdon club didn't go away and they will not give up their 'influence' that easy especially against a pip squeak like Farage, (that they tried to boot out of their bank) , watch this space as Kemi is slowly cooked and then roasted and then let go, but who is the chosen one to save us all , the next chosen one from the Bullingdon club

Hmmm ...Who indeed..

Not in Scotland or Wales both must be shining beacons of utopia with both having their own no

Tory governments.

So how come both are as bad off as everywhere else?

Yep. Is there any other former PM who was stripped of his parliamentary pass ? A former Prime Minister unable to schmooze the subsidised bars and restaurants of Westminster?

May elections, if the polls are right, will see Reform rip a hole through both the Tories & Labour… so a lurch to the right is inevitable as both parties try to win back voters.

There was “Boris”… so I’m not yet convinced there won’t be a “Boris: The sequel”. Tories will need an answer to Farage!

After all, there was “Trump”… and we now have “Trump: The sequel”… and he had much worse crimes to come back from.
