Trump - Lord of Chaos

No logic to his actions other than to cause global chaos.

Why do world leaders not call him out for what he is, a madman who wants to bully and bludgeon other countries bending them to his will.

He is the enemy of his own people, a treasonous American madman.

His own party are so enthralled with him and so sycophantic in their adoration for him , they can't see the damage he is doing not just to America but globally.

No one can predict the outcome of his latest tariffs, does Trump believe out of his chaos will come a new world order subservient to his will.

We are living in dangerous times with drastic consequences for the world and we have a madman in Washington controlling the chaos.

Who is going to rein him in?

His own people, no

The Democrats, no

The EU no

The UK , certainly no with appeasement Starmer in control.

He wants Gaza, he wants the Panama canal, he wants Greenland, he wants Canada, is the world enough for this tyrant in the White House?

I agree with you, but the UK doesn’t have the ability to rein him in. We are weak and isolated. Friendless. Easily taken advantage of. All Brexit benefits.

We couldn’t rein in a 3 legged poodle.

By crashing the markets Trump and his mates get to buy shares at low prices, they will wait until the share price recovers, and then sell at the higher price. They will be rich rich rich.

Evil?

“In my work with the defendants (at the Nuremberg Trials 1945-1949) I was searching for the nature of evil and I now think I have come close to defining it. A lack of empathy. It’s the one characteristic that connects all the defendants, a genuine incapacity to feel with their fellow men. Evil, I think, is the absence of empathy.”

It will bring back production to the U.S.

Clinton and George Bush absolutely killed the U.S. as a production powerhouse, Obama brought a little back and Trump 1st did about the same but still no way near enough.

Factories will be opening all over the States, best move ever.

Ironically one of the things that might get cheaper if we drop some tariffs is Oranges. We add tariffs to US oranges, probably to protect the Cumbria citrus farmers, or something.

Utter nonsense. The reason manufacturing fled the US is because capital flows to where labour is cheap. As Steve Jobs pointed out to Obama, those jobs are not coming back, because Americans are not going to accept work inside compounds where they have to sleep in dormitories next to the production facilities, and are summoned to work a 10 hour shift by an alarm bell every morning for a miserly hourly rate.

It takes many years and massive amounts of capital to build the factories and establish the supply chains to build up an industry, and it requires confidence that there is a workforce willing to endure those kind of conditions. Westerners just aren't. And even if they were, the products would be unaffordable to all but the wealthy.

It is also a trait found in psychopaths - the empathy valve in their brain is disconnected, and they cannot detect pain or suffering in others.

Exactly this!!

Not only that, but with a deranged, economically illiterate POTUS running the show, who may decide to disallow any certain investment, or remove tariffs altogether, or decide to radically change the tax system on Monday and then restore it on Thursday, what US companies would take the risk of such an unstable economic climate?

The poster who thinks “factories will be opening all over the states” is either joking or thinks you just put up a shed, stick some machines in it and start selling things and watching the dollars roll in. Worrying. But that is, admittedly, about Trump’s level of comprehension.

The U.S. used to produce a lot, some of that knowhow may be gone but there'll be plenty there. There are factories who fled to Mexico after NAFTA, destroying production, hurting farming and more, they might now flee Mexico if it's cheaper to produce in the States. It will be a similar business decision for factories selling to the U.S. from China.

Smashing up global supply chains will probably set the world economy back 20 or 30 years.

Trump wants to return to a system of trade that Europe abandoned 200 years ago.

"" The TDS is strong with this one "...you realise "tds" is not a real thing?

Denial is one of the symptoms. ....

Who won the 2020 election.?

Who started the war in Ukraine?

Is he in the room with you now? ....can you not answer the questions?....hahaha....you're in denial...do you have tds..?

Have you tried standing on the west coast, baring your arse and shouting at him across the Atlantic? You may find it cathartic. ...still can't answer?....this is such fun....hahaha

Clearly the only answer is Trump. Lost your keys:Trump. Stub your toe: Trump. Poured sour milk on your cocoa-puffs: Trump. Raining today: Trump. ...you're hilarious...you said denial is a symptom....yet you can't answer two simple questions...hahaha

Apparently, repetition, illiteracy and hysterical laughter are also symptoms. "

How is he “putting his own country first”? I mean (for starters) what is happening in a practical sense that is benefitting the average American?

Given the tumultuous reactions both in the USA and around the world you’d expect some pretty huge benefits to accrue as a consequence. What are they?

Trump is putting Trump first as always.

You don’t understand why people are panicking? Why are heads of government discussing radical measures? Why is the Dow Jones plummeting? Why are billions being wiped off company stocks? Why are companies laying off workers? Why is the value of your pension dropping? Why are ICE snatching people off the streets? Why are so many of Trump’s EOs unconstitutional? Why are war plans being discussed on consumer phones in commercial apps?

Perhaps people with a lot more analytical skills and experience can see a lot that you can’t and can join dots that you haven’t even noticed?

They are people who also voted for him to fk around more in future without having any problem . I have never climbed a wall in my entire life let alone climbing parliaments’ wall and break the windows and hanging on lamp shades or put the dirty boots on 100 thousand dollars table . Ha ha ha ha! Who told you that? Oh, the President? The one who stuck tariffs on the World on ‘Liberation Day’ then almost took them all off a few days later. Is that ‘Unliberation Day’.

Tariffs will make America Great.

Removing tariffs will make America Great.

Tariffs will make America Great.

I’ll pause them for 90 days. Maybe on Monday America will be liberated and he’ll set them all to 100% on everyone including (those grasping penguins). Then on Friday he’ll make them all 50% in the morning and then 10% in the afternoon?

Who knows what this utterly dangerous idiot will do next? Imagine being a business, especially in the USA, trying to decide how to run their company with this level of rampant stupidity happening almost daily.

And can you imagine any other president or PM in the world telling you that other countries are “kissing their ass” - what a degraded man Trump is? Bottom of the barrel doesn’t come close.

The economy of the US was doing rather well when Trump took over.

The entire country has grown very rich from free markets over the last 70+ years.

Having crashed his own casinos in order to enrich himself, it’s not a surprise Trump is now willing to crash the markets and destroy cross border trade.

He won’t be the one to suffer, and psychopathy makes him immune to the suffering of anyone else.

The economies of the UK and Ireland were doing well too, but go outside London or Dublin and you wouldn't know it.

A small number of people in every country have become extremely rich from free markets over the past 70 years, the bottom 50% have become considerably poorer.

Free trade has lifted 100s of millions of people out of abject poverty around the world.

It has increased access to healthcare and education, and raised life expectancy.

Your solution seems to one of levelling down - everyone else should be impoverished in order that the poorest are not alone.

What tariffs?

Trump has invented them.

What he sees as unfair practices and laws in a foreign country, he has rebranded them as "tariffs" in order to justify his own tariffs.

The last time USA did anything like this was after the 1928 Wall Street crash.

The imposition of tariffs lead to the Great Depression of the 1930s.

Economic nationalism is economic suicide.

It seems to depend on who you talk to re effect of global trade on average global income.

In this country neoliberal free market trade under WTO and IMF championed policies have been a bit of a disaster. In other countries they have caused horror stories.

I am less wealthy though I have a better paid job than my dad, my kids are better qualified again and are earning more than I'd at their age allowing for inflation , but financially are also less well off.

If I speak to friends in France, south Africa or Ney York they tell the same story

Friends in Greece, Ghana, India have horror stories of not being able to afford housing for parents , who put them through uni.

International trade should work, but it needs regulation and not in the interests of those maximising profits which is how it's always been.

Trump may well rattle the embers of the us economy and get a good fire going but without structural investment of that bounce. It will just burn out what's left of the intrinsic capital accumulation in the country.

What he's also done is give China a reason to put BRICS on steroids, and others a reason to play ball with them rather than always being exposed to USA dominance.

This generation is the first in modern history that can expect to grow up poorer than their parent’s generation.

That isn’t due to free trade.

It is an impact of the 2008 credit crunch and the evaporation of liquidity in the North Atlantic financial system.

If, as seems likely, Trump is about to plunge us all into another recession, the reality is that public finances across Europe and North America have still to be repaired from the spending taps that needed to be turned on in 2008 to mitigate the effects.

What he is doing is beyond reckless.

An economy based on monetarism instead of building real wealth through industry and manufacturing has resulted in those cycles of boom and bust. That system has impoverish the population via the upward transfer of wealth. Only the people at the top profit from the crashes (which many speculate are planned) just as much as they benefit from periods of growth.

Only a small number profit from importing goods manufactured elsewhere.

Korea is illuminating to your argument.

A genetically homogenous population, divided for 70 years and living under two different economic models.

Liberal democracy and free markets in the south; rigid central planning and zero private enterprise in the north.

Study the outcomes.

People in the south are taller, healthier and they live longer than the people in the north.

On every measure, they are better off.

Trump's apparent madness in creating a situation where US stocks crash is actually part of his, and his billionaire cronies "cunning plan".

Two members of his "inner circle" were quite candid about their intentions in interviews last week. One said "A crash may be bad for the economy, but it'll drive small investors out of the market. We'll then buy low, and when the markets recover, sell high or just consolidate our controll of the larger businesses."

You can't listen to what Trump says.

As others have said looking at markets tumbling in price it would seem like it's a simple bank job for him and his backers.

While agree there are a lot of blind hatred towards Trump. There's equally that towards others, I seen a lot SDS. Starmer Derangement Syndrome ( if we want to start giving everything a title) on here too.

What I will say on the tariffs situation is, I don't agree with people calling him stupid. I also don't think he is doing this for patriotic reasons. From what I can see, what is being carried out is the largest market manipulation for profit in my memory.

To top it all it's bing done by the highest office of the richest country in the world and supposedly the guardian of a rules based world order.
