If by biggest you mean most recognised it's probably something that appeals to a few generations across multiple decades like ABBA, U2, Beatles, MJ,

According to Google.

The top 5 best-selling bands of all time, based on album sales, are The Beatles, followed by Queen, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and The Rolling Stones.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1. The Beatles:

They are consistently ranked at the top, with certified sales exceeding 183 million units.

2. Queen:

With a strong global following and a significant catalog, Queen has sold over 170-200 million records, according to some sources.

3. Led Zeppelin:

This British rock band has sold over 112.5 million albums in the U.S. alone.

4. Pink Floyd:

Known for their iconic album "The Dark Side of the Moon," Pink Floyd has sold over 75 million albums.

5. The Rolling Stones:

With a long and successful career, The Rolling Stones have sold over 66.5 million albums in the U.S.

No band in the world is bigger than Taylor Swift rn.

Band is interesting; not long ago I'd have said AC/DC, Foo Fighters or similar, but bands make up a much smaller percentage of sales than they used to. It's all solo artists now. Probably down to marketing people.

Fair comment. The 1975 headlining Glastonbury is truly depressing.

Hard to see a guitar band from this country ever being bigger than Oasis were.

'A shite state of affairs' indeed.

Blimey, are they really?

Didn't know they were still a thing. I always found them a bit bland.

Indeed Healy and his goons are headlining. Surpassed only by Coldplay on the tepid front.

"Cannot believe nobody has mentioned the biggest band on the planet today, love them or hate them, Coldplay."

Is that because most folks dislike their coffee table in a lift music style?

They've done well for tbemselves and good luck to them but really they are a bit shite aren't they.

As far as headlines and money goes, the only one that would draw any interest nowadays is a reunion of The Smiths. But with Andy Rourke no longer with us it'd never be a full reunion anyway. Morrissey and Marr as a duo would work, but they're so far apart ideologically now that it'll never happen.

Great list, apart from the eagles, I'd replace them with led zeppelin but thats just my opinion.

Love them or hate them. ABBA have sold over 400 million records worldwide. Their ABBA gold hits sold over 32 million alone. And no, i am not an ABBA fan.
