Take good care of your teeth you say! I assume that you have a dentist. All my life I have religiously attended for NHS dental appointments, that is up until COVID. Since then I haven't been able to find an NHS practise that will take me because I refuse to go private. It is a subject that makes me very angry as I'm certainly not the only one in this position. There are thousands of people out there who are unable to get proper dental health care. It's a national disgrace! Even Ukrainian refugees are flying home to get their teeth sorted because it's so much cheaper...and I don't blame them. Most dentists are opting out of NHS contracts to pursue private practice. Do they give a fuck about those patients whose teeth are decaying and falling out...do they fuck! They feel that they're not being adequately compensated for treating NHS patients...boo hoover! Greedy bastards!

Rant over, sorry guys....feel better now!

“Greedy bastards”? Do you know how dentistry is funded in the NHS? Do you know about the dentists who have had thousands of pounds taken back off them by the NHS because they have seen too many patients and “overperformed”? Do you know that there is no such thing as an NHS dental practice - dentists have to get massive loans to buy all their own equipment and buy or rent their premises. Just like many small businesses they live on the edge of failure if they can’t meet their bills every month. That’s why they have been forced to go private. It’s government policy that’s the issue here, not “greedy” dentists.

Returning to the question of “caps” (crowns) false teeth or implants, it all depends on how well you take care of your teeth and gums yourself, the condition of your teeth and gums and how much bone you have. It’s an individual decision based on a professional diagnosis, not just a random choice.

My dentist suggested implants as I have a few teeth missing. He said it would cost me £1500.00 but then said that was for each tooth! That was about 10 years ago. Managed quite well with my missing teeth ever since.

I once had a blowjob from a denture wearer who removed the dentures and sucked me with just his gums and no teeth. It was very enjoyable and he enjoyed swallowing a big load.

I am always careful to try and use my lips when sucking, trying to keep my teeth away from his cock, ready for him to fill my mouth with cum.

I have 2 implants which were very expensive and a front fixed bridge.

I had to have four upper front teeth removed, leaving one 'big tooth'. I feel this would be vulnerable without my plate and maybe more likely to make 'accidental contact'(no pun).

Did once have a bj where the guy used his teeth, sliding up and down gently, and it felt good.

Three years ago I was recommended to have implants by my dentist and had two, one top one bottom, at a cost of £3000 each. I hesitated because of my age and wondered if it was worth it. He persuaded me it was. After two years my body rejected the upper one and it was agony while it became loose and eventually just fell out.

I received no apology and he just said "that can happen". Pity he didn't say it beforehand as I wouldn't have bothered. Total waste of time, pain and agony. The bottom one is still in place but has nothing to bite against other than the gap.

Also seem to be charged much more for the hygienist than are friends. I think I'm a cash cow for my dentist

People also ask

How much does NHS pay dental practices?

Salaried dentists employed by the NHS can earn basic payof anywhere between £47,653 and £101,923, according to the health service's careers website. The average NHS dentist salary is £74,788, according to Dentaly.7 Feb 2024

Mates son in law has a denture building business. In the 90s.

He created a full set of dentures to spec. He made a profit & the full cost was £780 to the dentist.

The London dentist charged the client £10,000!

My friend worked for a private & NHS dentist in the early 1970s. He never took home less than £3,000 a month.

You’re not paying to sit in a chair for seven minutes. You’re paying for his office, all the equipment in it, their x-ray machine and scanner, sterilisation equipment, computer records system, nurse and receptionist wages and NI, council tax and six years minimum university education plus ongoing professional training. You add that up and it comes to well more than £26 for seven minutes.

He was complaining that he got £150 fir each set. I've watched him make them. It takes him about 45 minutes for a top or bottom set.

First he lays a pink plastic over the mould which is heated then very quickly one by one he place the teeth into the plastic before it starts to harden . Then snips of excess plastic, uses a rotary buffer and sander then plunges it into cold water. Fascinating.

Hope that answers your question!

I think you got that wrong! First the dentist takes impressions. Then your friend makes bite blocks. The dentist records the bite and your friend makes up trial dentures on wax bases as you describe. The dentist tries them in and makes adjustments before your friend processes them into acrylic in a gladding process before finishing and polishing. Takes more than a few minutes and needs usually four or five appointments at the dentist over a few weeks. All for £ £326.70 on the NHS. How much for an MOT and service for your car?

Don't start me. Literally on my way for a root canal, had to get a private specialist because my NHS dentist reckons my case is "too complicated"... Okay, it might be, I'm prepared to believe that. But I phone up to book in getting a crown done after the root canal, and now it's all " oh, well have to get you into the dentist to see if it's feasible and there's enough of the tooth left..." My bullshit detector went off right away...

I think that's reasonable. I have a similar issue where there's not enough tooth left for a crown, so it may have to be extracted.

I had a crown there before and it collapsed. So it makes perfect sense that they want to check that it would work. No point spending time and money on a crown if it won't work.

Appreciate you pay for what get for, I have no idea how anyone elects to go to places like Turkey to have implants in a couple of weeks.

In my experience I had 10 implants and it took 5 months for the implants to settle and also the transplanted bone to be strong enough to take the implants. I lived on a soft food diet and had to eat with my palette, not great but my Dental Doctor said that for the fitting to be successful you have to allow for the bone to regenerate. It’s not a fast procedure, and if it is then you’re getting ripped off. I eventually went for two bridges made from a metal called Zeconia coated in porcelain. The cost was enormous ( as much as a medium sized car ) but mine will be constantly monitored and cleaned regularly to ensure their longevity. Mine currently have

a 10 -15 life span.
