It would have been nicer to see other clubs that haven't been in the top flight during the Premier League era.

I'll give Scott Parker 6 games max before he gets sacked if his previous Premier League management stints are anything to go by. 🤣

Four weeks to go until the season kicks off with plenty of transfer business still to be done.

Can Chelsea replicate their Club Work Cup success? Will the usual teams dominate? Can Newcastle compete if they lose Izak? Will Man Utd get rid of their unwanted players and finally turn things round?

One week to go now.

My team, Arsenal kick the season off against Man Utd next Sunday. We've made some decent looking signings, and I'm still hopeful that we may also get Eze from Palace. United have also strengthened their squad, especially with three new players up front.

Spurs look as if they could be a little stronger at the back, with Frank now in charge. Chelsea also starting the season as club world champions, however a lack of consistency has been a problem on recent seasons.

As for the three promoted teams, I can only see Leeds being likely to stay up. West Ham & Wolves amongst the teams scrapping it out at the bottom.

With regards to the previous two posts, I also think that Wolves and Brentford may struggle this season. Both, and in particular Brentford, have lost some of their better players. Brentford's whole system, similar to Brighton's, means they may have a contingency plan.

Whilst I don't disagree with that, it's already looking like Potter's tenure at West Ham may be ending sooner rather than later.

Spurs have made a great start, beating City away on Saturday. I'm hoping Newcastle can grab something out of the Liverpool game tonight before we face them next week.

Mass celebrations in the red side of Manchester today after defeating the mighty Burnley with a last minute penalty.

Spurs being Spursy again, losing their 100% record to Bournemouth after beating City last week.

That leaves Liverpool and Arsenal as the only teams yet to drop a point, and they meet each other at Anfield tomorrow.

I blame myself for your goal yesterday.

I'd already shouted at Raya earlier to 'stop pissing about at the back', mond you I do that every game. When you were lining up to take the free kick I shouted 'watch out for the ball dipping or swerving', which he either ignored or never even heard. My fault for not shouting louder.

"Has Pep lost his touch?"

I'm not sure, however the signing of Donnarumma is a strange one, as is PSG's decision to sell him.

Often lauded as the best shot-stopper on the world, PSG apparently decided to offload him because he isn't as good with his feet as some other goalkeepers. Never mind they won the Champions League with him last year.

Meanwhile Guardiola, who likes a 'keeper who plays it out from the back and has great feet, replaces Ederson, who has all these qualities, with Donnarumma.

An odd decision indeed.

I wonder if he's planning an overhaul in his style of play. It could be argued that he's been found out to a certain extent.

I dunno.

It'll be Pulis-ball next. 🤣

Will Spurs improve now that Levy has gone? And Man U have actually won a game! lol I don't see Amorim lasting the season though. Liverpool look odds on to win the league. They've done some amazing transfer business and look too strong now. Arsenal wiil need to be more adventurous in attack or Arteta's coat's on a shoogly peg.

I reckon so, Donnarumma punting the ball upfield, direct to Haaland.

Goddards in Greenwich in halfway between the two grounds, however Charlton run a hospitality package which includes pie, mash & liquor, a pint of your choice and a decent seat to watch the game from.

Okay, match 5 and it's 5:5 for Liverpool.

Let's just run through some of the usual excuses:

You haven't played anyone decent - Arsenal, Newcastle (A) & the Ev - always tricky

VAR - (really? Re: Spurs 30/09/23) nothing controversial either way

Are Liverpool playing well? Not for 90 mins, but in every match we 'have patches,' but who doesn't? We're looking stronger and the best is yet to come

YNWA - remembering Diogo

This is indeed a completely revamped Liverpool team featuring a number of new and competent players. Naturally, it requires time for them to acclimate to one another, as these new additions hail from various clubs, each with distinct football strategies. Therefore, they will need a bit more time to gel. I am quite confident that Slot is aware of this and is making efforts to reorganise the team weekly in order to determine the optimal positions for his players, employing Plans A, B, and C. Nevertheless, hats off to them for achieving 5 victories in 5 matches, even though they have not yet reached their full potential.

Pretty much bang on. Horrible day yesterday, dodged the worst of the rain. Not much bitterness from the Ev on show, Moyes failed yet again to get an Anfield victory, although they improved greatly after the break.

Diogo song rung out loud & clear on the 20th min.

We (Arsenal) play Man City today, which should be interesting.

I've been quite happy with our performances so far, including the win on Wednesday against the Italian champions, Napoli. Our new signings are doing well and offer alternative options with their versatility.

As ever, it's about consistency. Liverpool have it at the moment, world club champions Chelsea don't.

This weekend was better, although mixed fortunes for the birds.

The Liver bird has its wings clipped by The Eagles.

The Seagulls shat over Chelsea.

Cockerel grabs a scruffy draw.

Magpies were gunned down in dramatic style.

Man Utd lost again, this time to Brentford.

Bring on next weekend, L'pool away at Chelsea, Arsenal take on West Ham at The Emirates.

As I think you know, they are my local team. They haven't played since September 20, when the game was abandoned when a player died after colliding with the concrete wall surrounding the pitch.

They are playing against the Metropolitan Police this evening, and away match in the London Senior Cup.

Biggest losers were the media pundits IMO.

I got tired of them telling everyone that if club X buys player Y then it is five and dusted.

Now they have to admit it's just guesswork.
