Is it just me or do other people think they are missing something in life. Feels like the world has become flat and each and every day is just the same.

I don't drink. Been sober for over a year now. Not because I had a problem. Wanted a healthier body.

I think it's normal to feel that way sometimes. Life can get into a routine, and it's natural to wonder if there's more out there. For me, now at 67 y/o I've learned to focus on the present and appreciate the small things. I try to take each day as it comes, be grateful for what I have, and hold onto hope for the future. Maybe that's the best way to approach it? Good luck.

Life can feel rather flat a lot of the time ... some highs and lows along the way of course.

The search for deeper meaning is part of the human condition.

Hope you find that missing part OP

The answer is Buddhism, it will solve all your problems, and, you don't have to be a Buddhist to do it, bonus!

For a Buddhist, an attachment/over-reliance on problem-solving would become a problem in itself.

It's easy to take what we have for granted, and think there should be more to life.

But the reality for most of us is we have never had it so good.

Living longer, healthier lives, with more access to the resources of the planet than any generation in history.

If you earn the average wage in the UK (circa £35k), you are among the 4% of wealthiest people in the world.

That said, we all experience emotional voids that can leave us feeling alone or isolated or excluded.

I take a walk through a cemetery and think about the people there who would swap places to have my “ flat” life ..whatever my woes or troubles it gets things into perspective for me ……

Ride a motorcycle. I don't mean race around the streets or go and pose on the sea front but a reasonably paced run along smaller A and B roads clears the head and puts some meaning back in things.

I do suspect it's due to the level of concentration needed and my mind just shunts everything else away to somewhere and once I'm finished I look at things anew which helps remove the boredom.

I have no doubt that other activities which require total concentration and some physical activity over a period of an hour or more would have a similar effect.

Yeah I feel like that. Most my adult life. Tried to think of a way to change it but other than not being born I haven't found anything

Be active & creative where & when you can.

Do things that make you happy & not to please others.
