If they were needed for example to air lift people or supplies either in or out of a danger zone we now do not have the full capability we had beforehand. Except this was more than vandalism, damaging an aircraft is rated as a very serious crime anyway, they said crowbars were used to do what, damage the engines beyond use? and nevermind breaching a secure military facility (where were the guards?).
