Apparently fellating Nigel Farage again on Sunday. The BBC news and current affairs department is dead. Fallen. That cunt is on again and again. No greens (same number of MPs) and rarely Lib Dems (over 70 MPs). It's a disgrace. What the fuck does Lisa Nandy do?

I think BBC people can be guilty of living in a media bubble, and Farage is good copy so gets noticed.

Laura K is not a serious journalist. The Beeb is in short supply. Nick Robinson maybe?

I mean it still pisses me off to hear Amol Rajan's voice on Today, so I'm probably just old now.

Again you're correct. For some reason the Beeb think they're in a popularity contest with the rightwing press/X/Reddit/YouTube and even their terrestrial TV counterparts. Understandable given the past couple of decades of political threats to gut the franchise, kill the licence fee.

The BBC lost its independent Reithian spirit a while ago.

The national broadcaster isn’t supposed to be box office. It’s supposed to be public service. Polls are hypothetical as opposed to real votes won by real parties with more representatives. The BBC are demeaning themselves. While we are on the subject, Today is now really shit.

Political media output though should be proportionate. It should reflect the last General Election and not questionable polls. My issue is she will not probe him like Congress did and the BBC board needs removing and in its place and independently appointed board. Government should not have influence over the nation's publicly funded broadcaster. Politics should be serious, not box office.

Probably best to report on it after witnessing the event in question.

Just pissing into the wind, trying to critique something that hasn't happened yet.

Not watching it is also a perfectly rational plan of action if you can't stand the sight of the interviewer/Interviewee

Wouldn't say Gardeners World was ruined. Quite enjoy my Friday night 'dig'. In fact feel deprived as it wasn't on this week.

Certainly no watchable comedy anymore and a lot of programmes a naff.

The BBC clearly recognise Nigel Farage will be your next PM with a huge majority Government and are attempting to get in bed with him and appease him with extra air time and coverage

Why?

Obviously an attempt to avert Farage from closing down the biased, Hamas and illegal migrant loving BBC for good

The BBC has very few professional political journalists left these dsys... they are to difficult to control when they have a mind of their own, The BBC prefer 'presenters' that get told what to say by producers whispering in their ear! It's happened in lots of other BBC programs too, likes sports and even Antigue Road Show style shows. Another example of the BBC having thrown the towel in and prefering 'fake'!

Quite agree... the BBC is a mere shadow of its former status of being the worlds leading broadcaster! It has turned itself into a 24/7 woke Womans Hour. It does need to be independently financed away from government control and return as the nations national state broadcaster; not chasing ratings with cheap game shows and soaps!

Indeed - but caught in an invidious position trying to maintain quality and public service with a licence fee that many resent, and without which they will inevitably have to fall into the media sewer and fight for clicks. You can already see it happening by a thousand cuts. Ultimately we will get what we deserve. But we will regret it.

Bit of a no-win for the BBC sometimes. Yesterday morning on the 'Today' programme I heard Nick Robinson give Farage's sidekick Tice a strenuous interrogation, quite startlingly so.

So if he'd gone easier he'd be accused of radio fellatio, but doubtless his tough questioning will be seen by some as doing Starmer's bidding. No-win situation. Good radio, though.

On this one we seem to agree. The Farage is certainly pushing to get his party elected to the Welsh Senedd in next years elections. However I honestly don't think he gives a damn about Wales in reality. Probably looks upon us as 2nd class colonial peasants.

I'm guessing Scotland will also go to the polls next year from the Edinburgh parliament. Also guessing Reform are hopeful there though doubt the canny Scots will have much truck with them. Seem to remember the Farage once being almost hounded out of Scotland.

If that is the case then, my friend, I salute you on your wondrous photographic memory. "No, I asked you why it you think they are numpties. In other words what did they say/do.

I've already said on here that Lisa Nandy has made a lot of foolish remarks most of which I don't remember other than some stupid comments about our armed forces. Lammy claimed his mother brought him up on a benefit that wasn't actually introduced until he was 31. He may be academically bright but he lacks commonsense plus he looks vacant. As for Ed Miliband what can one say.

Still these are all minor ministers in a foreign country when you declare UDI.

....

....

😭 So you base it on comments you can't remember...'Plus he looks vacant'.... 🤣🤣 Such reasoned argument.

Bizarrely, you now throw independence into the mix...

Wtaf. 😭

Perhaps you can remember every comment made by every politician in detail, not to mention every post made on these forums over the last 5 years. If that is the case then, my friend, I salute you on your wondrous photographic memory. Just think fame and fortune await you by becoming a full-time television quiz show member or even a PA to your favourite politician. Sadly my memory is not so good but that does not mean I will be retracting any of my statements.

Plus you still have not admitted or denied being less than complimentary about ministers in the previous government.

I will admit I was probably wrong to mention Scottish independence. You amazingly alluded to it in another thread and I got the two mixed up "

...

...

😭

It's not about remembering every post. As tangents go..

I merely asked you to expand on your claim via examples. You are not under any obligation.

The sarcasm about a photographic memory, you might as well have mentioned Great Aunt Agatha who took the hem in on a pair of cords back in the day. ..

I stated that my contempt for tory ministers was indeed based on actions which I will be more than happy to discuss if you want to start a thread squire.

I didn't allude, I mentioned directly as a point of relevance.

Nae bother.

"Apparently fellating Nigel Farage again on Sunday. The BBC news and current affairs department is dead. Fallen. That cunt is on again and again. No greens (same number of MPs) and rarely Lib Dems (over 70 MPs). It's a disgrace. What the fuck does Lisa Nandy do?"

It's because the greens are not able to put together a coherent sentence, let alone make any sense.

Do you have any examples you can refer to or are your comments, as I suspect, more right wing arse chutney.

I think the real question must be not: "Who did she sleep with to get her job " but "who was desperate enough to shag the old cow."

The asymmetry of LK's face bothers me and I know she can't help it but it seems fixed in a sneer always.

When she moves her lips though...

The disdain for LK is something I've pondered upon. Is it because she's well-spoken and Scottish I've thought to myself? Is it her choice of clothes, her vernacular? Her love of the Arabs?

Ms Kuensberg on the other hand...

The first past the post system doesn't work like that though does it?

Party X could come a very close second in almost every constituency in a general election and yet not have any MPs.

Does that make them irrelevant in politics? No, of course not.

Party Y could narrowly win in a small fraction of constituencies and get half a dozen MPs.

Does that make them more relevant than party X? I'd argue not.

Like it or lump it Farage is the leader of the opposition. Badenoch is never going to make an impact. She's effectively finished already...

"

Although a very clever lady with some good ideas [my opinion. Don't expect Labouroids or Reformees to agree] Mrs Badenoch has made little impact outside the Commons where she repeatedly makes Starmer huff and puff and go puce in the face. Unfortunately Starmer's lack of leadership and direction, not to mention his poor decisions and dubious front bench team, are playing right into the hands of the Farage.

"We gave up on the BBC about five years ago. Top Gear gone, Gardeners World ruined, no comedy that entertains, Why bother.

Quite agree... the BBC is a mere shadow of its former status of being the worlds leading broadcaster! It has turned itself into a 24/7 woke Womans Hour. It does need to be independently financed away from government control and return as the nations national state broadcaster; not chasing ratings with cheap game shows and soaps!"

Plus too many of its own adverts!

Will right wing Laura give Farage a list of the questions she will ask him before her interview. As she did with Boris Johnson.
