Am staying in early October so does anyone know any good places to go, saunas, bars, cruising etc?

I went there as a kid, in 1958. The NAAFI was great, but I can't recommend the Soviet zone...

I don't think Dosseldorf is anywhere near the Russian occupied part of what was West Germany.

There was a strip club near the the railway station, which had the most adorable French girl dancing there. I spent a very happy night there.

Agreed. My memory may be at fault here. It was in the British zone,where I was staying with an Army relative, and my suspect memory tells me I was told not to go into the (?nonexistent?) Russian zone. A joke? A dream? Or had the town, much of it still ruined, remained partitioned for some reason? I'd like to know.
