"Yes the Autumn campaign starts this year at 75 and over , immunocompromised and residents of care homes for the elderly. Flu immunisation remains unchanged starting at 65. " He tried pharmacy first they said only 75 is eligible he has stage 3 COPD and asthma also he contacted his doctor and they stated only 75 year olds and people with weakened immune system will get it . He is 71 and they definitely told him he would not get it this year his doctor told him government as changed criteria so it's not false . | |||

The free flu vaccine will be offered to those 65 and over this winter, in line with last year, but Covid boosters will only be given to people 75 and over - as well as those who are immunosuppressed So people know I have people message me saying it's lies Google it and find out as I said NHS is not giving 70 year olds COVID vaccine it's for over 75 yr olds . I can't say I honestly trust the government or the pharmaceutical companies any more than the internet! They all have their own agendas... and I'm pretty sure its not our welfare top of the lists! Medical drugs should not be allowed to be marketed like a can of beinz! It's too tempting for the share owner driven pharmaceutical companies to maximise profits above welfare! Even clinicians and pharmacies are on commission payments to sell and prescribe drugs to bloat profits! It's all wrong!!!"Whilst there is a lot of truth in what you say, there is one difference that there are rules and laws around the extent drugs companies can twist the truth and there are and have been significant penalties dished out for getting it wrong. What has a trade union got to do with that? Don't you mean the NMC..which is the registering body for qualified nurses in the UK? The NMC is the only body who can deregister you as an actually qualified nurse..or strike u off, as you put it. The RCN is NOTHING more than a trade union..as u should know. Advice to anyone reading their comments; I wouldn't pay any heed to this person's comments. I'm not sure they're in any way clinically qualified to offer any advice. | |||

They're QOF (previously known as the Chronic Disease Register) criteria and, hence, automatically included. Completely agree, however, that COPD exclusions are bizarre and I don't concur with them, though haven't done a deep dive into the more recent inclusion matrix as I no longer work in the area. As we waste so many Influenza (and now SARS-COV)vaccines each year to the tune of £millions it seems barmy to exclude those who are willing to be (and have previously routinely been) vaccinated due to some esoteric scheduling change. | |||

"I'm no fan of this government nor any of the opposition parties, however i'm under 65 and had both my Flu and covid jabs for free last week in England. I'm not classed as vulnerable nor did I have to "Shield" during covid. I guess some of it depends on your medical history but worth checking with your doctors about eligibility rather than the chemists, it should be a clinical decision made by your GP rather than a one size fit all policy." His doctors said he wasn't eligible he has had COVID vaccine from the start . I booked him in through NHS and NHS 111 told him to go through the chemist doctors didn't have a clue especially his illnesses. | |||
