The USA so called peace prosal , given to the Ukraine and Russia, apparently with out agreement from either party.

Nor with any regard to the United Nations.

From the heading, I have shown my feelings.

I will had one more before you lot can voice your opinions.

If the Ukraine capitulate, NATO and the UN are finished, world war 3 will be inevitable.

Ukraine has shown no signs so far of capitulation. They seem as determined to fight on as ever.

World War III could occur if Russia invaded a NATO member nation. Such an invasion would put the maxim of "attack one, attack all" to the test.

Whether or not NATO - and particularly the USA - would honour its pledge to defend an invaded country isn't entirely clear. The consequences of a NATO vs Russia conflict are too awful to contemplate.

I was not going to intervien on this thread, however ww1 was deemed to be impossible, due to the balance of power!

As well as ww2 was thought to be impossible, due to the war to end all wars!

So nothing is impossible.

It's not the piss tapes, if they exist. Golden showers wouldn't bother Trump too much - see what else he's blustered his way out of. This is an invitation to take our eye off the ball, which is Epstein-shaped. That vote to release DoJ files... could Russia be so embedded in the US government that Putin can now control what files are released? Files which Trump cannot by himself control? Hmmm. Shit on Ukraine, or we'll step on you? The timing is very interesting.

The criminal Trump has no option but to obey Putins orders. No one knows what Putin has over the criminal but it must be huge. I have just listened to a reporter who had a copy of what the yanks sent to Ukraine supposedly as a piece plan, it’s just ridiculous advice and could have been written by a 4yo.

If this goes through Europe needs to set up military bases in Ukraine and guarantee their defence. Then let Ukraine break the agreement and build up their army numbers, we know Russia doesn't respect treaties anyway. The only condition of Europe's military withdrawal from Ukraine and lifting sanctions should be the return of its occupied territories.

Fact check:

The last Gallup poll shows that 52% would prefer a negotiated peace to continuing the war. 52% of that 52% ie a minority of the population) were prepared to make territorial concessions inorder to end the war. "Immediate" end?

Not covered in the survey.

"Neocons?" Think you're confusing this conflict with Iraq. Most of them are reduced to punting Israeli propaganda in their care homes, and Bolton is on trial right now...

As to the "warpigs", not to labour the point, if Ukraine is taken by the fascist oligarch in Moscow, the Baltics will the next in Putin's sights - already are, in fact - and destabilisation of Europe will continue beyond this. So don't worry, mate, keep up the propaganda and you may well get your job in the GRU back...

That's odd because from the Gallup Poll:

Ukrainians Support Negotiated Peace

Which of the following statements about the war with Russia comes closest to your personal views?

Line chart showing the trend in personal views of Ukrainians toward the war between Ukraine and Russia.

In 2025, more people want Ukraine to seek to negotiate an ending to the war as soon as possible (69%) than to continue fighting until Ukraine wins (24%), reversing the trend from 2022 when 73% favoured fighting until victory...

Wouldn't you? The kicker is that little word "negotiated". The current offer was reached without Ukraine's participation, and is essentially a lis tof Russian demands, plausibly translated directly from Russian and handed to Trump's stupid and malicious "negotiators".

The Gallup poll doesn't ask: " Do you want to negate your right to a free and autonomous country, and hand over its assets to an enemy which has been killing your people for years?

So please stop pretending it does, tovarich.

We're all armchair generals but how exactly would Ukraine win the war? They are purely defensive and a win for them would be for Russia to stop advancing, retreat to its own borders. Ukraine isn't going to invade Russia and try to take IT over, ffs!!

Sanctions dont appear to work. So how it end, without a negotiation and all parties not getting what they want.

No I wouldn't, I'm not a Chicken Hawk and don't have the stomach to watch thousands of young and old people thrown to the frontline to a certain death after a week or two's training.

In actual fact autonomy was already granted, to the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, this agreement was broken (by elensky) and the conflict escalated. That's not pretence, it's fact.

Wrong again, sweetpea. Autonomy wasn't granted to those regions by anyone other than Russia, following a deeply flawed referendum unrecognised by anyone other than Russia.

World War 3 is not inevitable. Putin and Trump will not live for ever. And in any case Trump has to do something unusual to be allowed to stand again as President as he will have stood 2 terms by 2028.

I think it's important to have at least a tiny bit of optimism tempered by the terrible realism of world politics.

A bit off-Piste, but I did mention the fact that the United Nations were ignored by the USA in anything to do with a peace settlement.

I am a supporter of the concept of a world organisation to breaker disputes between nations.

But with two of the 5 permanent members, The USA and Russia having no respect for the UN, China paying little attention to the UN, which leaves the UK and France, with the help Germany and most of the rest of the Nato countries to support Ukraine.

Is it the end of the UN in is current structure?

Personally I think it requires a complete overhaul.

Trump can’t afford to keep supplying arms to Ukraine, so he has proposed a peace treaty which is unacceptable to Ukraine. When Ukraine rejects it he can say Ukraine is uncooperative and he then has an excuse to stop supplying arms. Objective accomplished and he can blame Ukraine for it all going wrong. Typical Trump strategy.

So the political landscape has changed considerably.when the ‘iron curtain came down Russia had a chance to join the free world but sadly missed the chance .

"EU can't seem to organise the proverbial piss up as far as Ukraine is concerned."

To be fair the EU is skating a very thin line given it has Russia on its own borders. Too much overt support for Ukraine (e.g. troops boots on ground) and it's asking for retaliation directly from Putin. Too little and it looks like throwing Ukraine under the bus. Plus you've got varying amounts of expressed support within the bloc itself.

The UK electric were misled by the lies spread by Farage Johnston &Co and very stupidly voted to leave the EU, and now they are making the same mistake all over again. Starmer has persisted in keeping the UK complicit with Israel in the genocide being visited on the Palastinian civilian population, so should never be trusted in office again. The horrible dilemma now facing the electorate is clear and one can only hope that the lunacy demonstrated by the Yanks is not repeated.

EU can't seem to organise the proverbial piss up as far as Ukraine is concerned."

That’s a very brave statement! I’m sure that you are aware that the EU have contributed 124 billion to Ukraine, not like the USA who want repaid for every bullet that they provide.

The whole world can see that Trump is a deranged criminal, and this capitulation he has asked Ukraine to accept shows he is Putins possession and has no option but to obey his masters orders. This idiot was elected by the American electorate and the responsibility lies squarely on them, and proves that they are indeed traitors to the free world.

The UK gets involved in to many conflicts that are nothing to do with us

We are forever handing out billions in foreign aid even to countries with nuclear weapons and space programmes

As well as spending 12 billion a year housing & feeding people who come here illegaly and giving them all smart phones and spending money

No other country in the world does that you can't blame people coming here for free food accomodation healthcare etc etc we would all do the same if we were them weird how over 85 % of them that come here are young males though

What did biden or obama do re north korea or ukraine & israel they just kept shelling out bombs bullets and cash

My friend, you really do need to educate yourself much better on the reality of who this turd is.

I will confine myself to proven facts, Trump stands convicted of 34 charges of fraud, sexual deviancy and the entire world watched him incite the mob to attack the Senate in which 5 people were killed, he is also a draft dodger and has been declared bankrupt on 6 occasions, he is also a proven habitual liar.

This wonderful 28 point plan which he has presented to Ukraine which is innocent state invaded by an aggressive bully is simply a capitulation to the bully, you would appear to find that acceptable but most of the free world would not agree. This criminal has also armed Israel in its quest to destroy its Arab civilian neighbours and many Israel leaders have arrest warrants against them for war crimes. I struggle to understand what you find admirable about this dreadful individuals outrageous actions, he has in my opinion made how the OP opened this thread to be totally correct.

Trump is a criminal, yes, but that has no relevance here.

He has presented a list of Russian demands as a ‘peace plan’ yes.

But he has got lines of communication open by doing that. That’s the only way to peace. Russia and Ukraine bombing the shit out of each other will never bring peace in the area.

So whilst it’s not a guarantee, at least his administration has got the ball rolling.

A few corrections to your “proven facts”. One conviction on 34 counts of fraud. Slightly different to your wording.

5 people were not killed during the attack on the Capitol (not Senate). 1 was killed by police, 4 others died shortly after from natural causes, inc one drug overdose.

Many Israeli leaders do not have arrest warrants for war crimes. The correct number is 2.

Israel is not in a quest to destroy its Arab neighbours. Which neighbours would those be?

I’m no supporter of Trump but you do yourself no favours by deluded TDS and history of anti Americanism.

Thank you for correcting what YOU see as errors in my summary of situation now pertaining

The criminal Trump was convicted on ALL 34 charges of fraud which he was charged with and that is a proven fact so no apology on that one.

5 people did lose their lives as a direct result of the riot which the criminal Trump incited and that is a proven fact, so no apology I no apology on that.

You also attempt to argue that only 2 members of the Isreal gov have arrest warrants for war crimes, well more than 1 does indeed equate to many so once again that is a proven fact and nothing for me to apologise for.

I am shocked that you enquire what Arab civilian people that the butchers who are Israel is attempting to eliminate, then ask any human being on the planet and you will get the same answer, but just for you it’s the people of PALESTINE.

I have to be fair and I do admit that I did refer to The Capital as the Senate and for that for that grievous error I humbly apologise to anyone who was unable to understand my meaning, if any such person can be found.

Same old. Same old. Another chance for the Anti-Trump Brigade to air their bile. I'm fairly neutral on the subject but nevertheless concerned. The USA has long see itself as the 'policeman of the World' especially now with Chief Constable Trump in charge. There is no easy solution to the Ukraine War which has been raging for nearly four years and has cause devastation, destruction and death to both countries involved. I include Russia since their quick takeover of Ukraine did not happen and they have lost thousands of troops.

Any chance of peace is going to mean concessions from both sides. Ukraine giving up the mainly Russian ethnic Dombass region seems sensible in many ways but would prefer to see it as a UN monitored independent buffer zone state rather than an integral part of Russia. Biggest concern is that if peace is achieved with the madman in Moscow then set his sights on somewhere else.

I was just about to give up hope of a sane comment when I saw yours. Some of these people are obviously unable to think beyond the utter shyte and propaganda spewed by the MSN. No consideration of what has been agreed and how Putin was deliberately goaded into the war with Ukraine by NATO and the EU.

Since the demise of the Soviet Union every former member country has been swallowed up by the EU, whether or not they met the stringent financial requirements, which many didn't.

All that was required was a neutral zone between Russia and the NATO countries, which is obviously Ukraine. Setting up an agreement by NATO to protect Ukraine in the event of conflict with Russia was the way to go but that didn't suit the warmongers.

Billions have been siphoned off by Zelinsky and the Biden crime family along the way and on goes the war relentlessly.

The Euro sabre-rattling coalition claims to be willing, but is woefully unable to follow through on anything significant without America's support.

America is clearly tired of having to fund & supply Ukraine, which obviously cannot unilaterally defeat uber-belligerent Russia, in this Eastern European war.

"Ironic the USA is negotiating a peace deal when they were responsible for starting it in the first place "

Exactly so, the USA are basically attempting to force Ukraine to surrender to the aggressor or they will withdraw support, totally disgraceful but very predictable as the criminal is clearly under Putins control. What would the world give to know what Putin has on this dunce? The Epstein files if they are not redacted might well put this turd into jail where he belongs.

Seems its a surrender deal proposed by putin and tabled by trump, not a peace deal at all,

i hope there is enough support for ukraine to stand up to it without usa, otherwise they are in for a very insecure future,as is europe.

Europe has witnessed Russia’s expansionist intent for more than 3 years, so have had time to prepare to face Russia down and tell the Yanks to fo back the corrupt shit-hole they seem to be happy in.

Well, these fantastical theories manifest and are passed around within the flatulently gaseous bubbles of the Trump Derangement Syndrome support group meetings ... Often as part of a montage during their daily Two Minutes Hate period.

I wouldn't be too harsh on the poor deluded & intellectually disadvantaged darlings ... From a purely humanitarian aspect, they are more deserving of pity than scorn.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the vast majority of contributors to this post for recognising the danger to world that the criminal Trump represents and how he has indeed made the USA an enemy of the free world, and who have the courage to agree with the OP. The total stupidity exhibited by the few who persist in supporting this convicted fraudster, sex deviant, persistent liar, draft dodging enemy of democracy and 6 times bankrupt dunce who really need to be ashamed.

Putin today has basically refused any talks with the Ukraine. So it looks like the USA proposal is dead in the water, for the moment.

Well done op in drawing attention to members who contribute zero to this post but continue to hurl abuse at those who do.

Nothing that the criminal does surprises me, and I doubt anyone believed that America’s proposed capitulation which they expected Ukrain to accept is dead in the water. It was ever just another example of Humpy’s extreme stupidity. What is required is for Europe to find some balls and send there army’s to properly support Ukraine in this war against the aggressor. I am old enough to have known plenty of Tommy’s who fought with the Yanks in WW2 and I can assure you that none of them had a high opinion of them.

Who have I criticised exactly?

Who is above criticism anyway?

And why are you only in favour of opinions that match your own?

Ridiculous statements are open to ridicule ... It's all part of the cut and thrust of grown-up discourse.

So you might want to try lightening up and lose the censorial attitude.

You really should have nothing to fear from being exposed to opinions that may differ from your own ... once you accept that not everyone is going to agree with you on any given matter, and that's ok ... Then it's far easier to relax in the lounge.

Because a lot of the comments on here are based on unfounded claims. Another thread for the anti-Trump brigade to express their hatred of this man who a] was elected and b] is not the leader of the government in this country. I'm a bit indifferent towards him. Yes he comes out with some bizarre statement and does a few weird things, but he is making a bit of an effort to bring peace to some of the troubled areas of the world. Bit of a case of 'damned if he does and damned if he doesn't'.

Still you have provided his irrational haters with a chance to spew their bile.

If there's any real strength behind your convictions, then you wouldn't feel remotely threatened by opposing views or expressions of mirth in reaction to your often hysterical claims.

Anyway .... Have a wonderful evening Shirty.

"Donny certainly invokes a hell of a lot of priggish posturing and witless whingeing from the TDS brigade.

Still, it keeps the sanctimonious darlings occupied .... and gives them at least some semblance of purpose.

Happy Friday ... one and all xxx

My original comments in this thread, mentions the USA, not Donald Trump.

But I applaud you for reading everyone's comments, some of which mention his name

It must have kept you occupied for some time.

Oh no, not really .... & certainly not deserving of applause.

Only a very slow reader would need to dedicate much of their time to consume the combined contents of this rather inconsequential & ill-conceived thread.

What is illconseived about this thread? It is topical, and very important to many millions of people on the planet. There is Hardley a day the goes by that the Ukraine/Russia war it not in the News.

So it is not inconsequential to the people on this forum.

I fully agree with the op, this is very consequential and important to those who have responded to what was posted. Clearly that is away beyond the capability of some to understand, and those unfortunate people just keep hurling personal abuse at everyone who dares to treat this question with the respect that it deserves.

Says a man who claims that Russia will next invade Alaska

While I'm here -

What personal abuse have you received from me .. Ever?

What is 'daring' about anything you, or anyone, has stated on the thread?

Anyone so full of negativity is no threat.

I just dont understand why you can not give everyone a positive contribution?

Because not everyone's contributions deserve a hearty 'Well said!'

Just as I don't seek or expect any praise for anything I ever write ... and I don't mind at all when someone comes back at me with a good argument .... or skillfully cutting retort.

Make sense now?

Shirty accused me of 'hurling personal abuse' (again) ... Only someone with the thinnest of skins or frail egos could feel abused from reading my sporadic musings on this or any other thread.

Compared to historical norms. YES.

The sooner the Orange One is gone by whatever means the better.

The concern being: Vance- who pulls his strings.

My best advice to you is to ignore the stupidity exhibited by those whose aim is to destroy any semblance of free speech on this forum. I am not specifically directing this at anyone lol

We have to accept of course that those who feel that the cap fits them to perfection will soon expose themselves.

Petty grievances & thin skins aside ...

Some very Interesting latest Headlines , regarding Ukraine -

"Read All About It".....

'Zelensky's chief of staff quits hours after anti-graft investigators raided his home amid £75million energy kickback and 'golden toilet' scandal'

Thin end of a rather broad wedge, perhaps?

"Once again you choose to ignore the subject of this post and resort to making a personal attack on someone who holds a different opinion to yours and who is very willing to defend it, while you are demonstrably not. Good manners cost nothing is very true and you would be well advised to keep that in mind."

Nothing has been ignored a mirror was simply held up and your self delusion prevents you from seeing and spouting anything but your childish doctrine.

In simple terms you cant see the forest for the trees.

"You lot should really do your research, when nato was formed, every nation that joined signed an agreement saying they would never advance further east than rammstein germany, they are now a 1000 miles further east than that, all putin dosnt want is nato on his border, not to much to ask really is it,and how trust worthy does that make all the nato members and nations

The above message as Trump would say is Fake News.

If you can prove your ridiculous accusations? The land of unsocial media does not count, Walt Disneys Mickey Mouse could have come up with a more credible story, than yours.

Shame on you."

It is factually correct, please explain your military history or service that would give you any insight into it

What's Ukrainian for "Hello, Volodymyr here ... Ursula, send cash only!"?

It takes a very peculiar mentality to seriously believe and then claim that negotiating peace between two foreign powers and putting an end to pointless bloodshed is a sane definition of betrayal against the West.

Further claims that the USA's proposed peace plan will, as the OP stated in his hyperbolic opening post, that - 'If Ukraine capitulates, NATO and the UN are finished, world war 3 will be inevitable.' ... And that 'Putin will next invade Alaska' is clearly alarmist & foolhardy nonsense. Laughably so.

.........................................

Bottom line- Wars are fought, won and lost.

Ukraine has lost this one.
