Papers whipping up a headline, if Russia seriously wanted the Ukraine im sure they would have it by now,

Its more about Russia pushing to test Natos reactions

The only way out is for Russia to stop without losing face, and though im no fan of Trump, only the US can facilitate a truce.

A solution which panders to all the egos involved, ie Putin, Trump and to a lesser extent Zelensky.
