Anyone else who can't be bothered to see in the New Year? 2026 will just be another rubbish year just like 2025.

Got a nasty feeling it is going to be same old, same old. 2025 has not exactly been a good year for me. Sort of drifted through it. Some of it my own fault as could have made more of an effort.

It going to be a rebellious year no one going to be told what to do by the labour government until they resign and handover the keys to number 10 to a Man called Nigel.

There is this malaise which is pervasive if you believe the media.

The lived reality can be different, if we focus on what we can control.

The improvements we can make with friends, your neighbours, your community. It's not all about money.

Politicians are always going to be self centred over-promisers.

Where possible, they need to be bypassed.

I've long considered the Winter Solstice (December 21st) to mark the start of the new year. For me it symbolises rebirth as the days begin to grow longer.

Admittedly opinion polls are notoriously unreliable but at best they are giving the Faragista Party Mark 3 33% and some down to about 25%. Which means between 67% and 75% do not want the grifter and his shoddy little party of no-hopers running the country. Besides I very much doubt there will be a general election in 2026.

Several potential candidates surely. Even Ed Davey would make a better PM than the odious Farage, even if ED does come over as a bit of a clown.

You are as bad as Trump and his unqualified gibberish.

Ipsos and YouGov polls from beginning of the month have 27-36% of the voting population intend to or likely to vote Reform at next election. Hardly 3/4 of the population you claim.

New Year’s Eve.

Staying home

No transport to go anywhere or to get back afterwards if you do.

Taxis are like hens teeth.

Stay in with the tv and a drink

Even better to stay in with a TV and a drink.

If I can find one.

Some people so miserable glass always half empty & they love to spread their misery around.

If there’s something about your life you don’t like, try making a change instead of complaining.

Big difference there. Believe it or not I can't stand trump. But America is a bigger country with and was built on immigration, England is a small country that struggles to look after our own so immigration is a bigger deal over here. How can we offer others a better life when we aren't even looking after our own people. What's good for the UK isn't necessarily going to be good for the USA. Problem is we live in a world where people jump on a moral high ground when we rightfully say we can't keep taking in these immigrants and the majority of them are a drain on our already struggling systems.
