"Brought up in the 70s and 80s now I watch the news arnt we all nation of fannies" 50s and 60s and 70s we had this weather every winter so we were used to dealing with it. I think part of the problem is this snow no longer comes annually. But yes, I tend to agree with you.

"Oh woe, it's too snowy in winter, the sun's too hot in summer, it's too windy we need to turn off the turbines, it's raining the houses we built on floodplains are going to submerge - bring back food rationing, national service and STOP THE BOATS" Yes. Let’s go back 30 years. 😂 Yeah you need to turn off the wind turbines if it’s too windy. It’s quite obvious why

"Can't believe they shut schools and tell people to work from home after only a few inches of snow. I remember walking 2-3 miles in snow upto your knees to get to school. Then sat in coats at school as the old coal fired boiler had broke down. This was only in the 70s/80s. Too much health and safety, living on the back of claim culture. " I suffered so everyone else must suffer - the eternal scream of the British

It was normal. | |||

"Brought up in the 70s and 80s now I watch the news arnt we all nation of fannies" agreed, winter weather used to be so much worse and schools weren't shut. A little bit of snow now and it's armagedon

"schools kept open in 60/70s....remember walking to school in the cold and snow, wellies , for my third of a pint of milk warmed up on the radiator( before stopped) today, First World Problem, Sky satallite signal not working !" So true. We walked to school, some distance, in all weather's, no hassle, and schools rarely closed. Remember the pints of milk, first job sometimes was to thaw them out on radiator lol. But then I remember the outdoor toilet at grannies. No light, dark n musky, check first for spiders, then break the ice in the pan, then brave yourself for that touch of ice cold toilet seat on bare ass lol

"Yep! It doesn’t help when the news likes to dramatise everything especially the weather." So true. I remember walking to scholl when snow was as high as the hedges. No heating at home except a fire and a paraffin heater in the hall. Sitting in coats at school. Couldn't drink the milk as it was frozen . Today there's pathetic warnings about everything. They try to teach grandmother's to suck eggs. Lol One example are news items.. "Warning, some viewers may find the next article upsetting" Then you see nothing or it's blurred. However, so many violent films and dramas are available. Just saying.
